Mirror stamping is when you get a reverse image of the original stamp impression. A stamping tool is very helpful with this technique. It allows you to re-stramp the image if needed. A clear stamp that is larger than the image that will be mirror stamped is also essential for this technique. The clear stamp I used is specifically made for this purpose although it can also be used to stamp a colored scallop edged background. A pigment ink is also needed since this ink tends to remain wet long enough to do the image transfer. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink. I also tried mirror stamping using VersaFine Clair but the result was not as good as the VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I used a brayer to help with the image transfer. I also think the paper is a factor to a successful image transfer. I initially used a smooth watercolor paper. It was harder to do the mirror stamping on this paper because of the thickness of the paper. On my second try, I used a smooth 80 lb paper and the transfer was better.

Hello! Welcome back to my blog. It is the month of February which means we have a new sketch challenge at Stick It Down Scrapbook and Card Making Challenge in FB. What makes this month special is that I am this month's card sketch contributor. As always, there are 3 sketch options to choose from making it easy to join.
I used a paper pack in my stash to complete the elements of the sketch. I die cut a heart on a patterned paper with the bear image holding on to a sentiment. I applied shimmer to the letters and added accents using a white gel pen. I die cut a skinny heart frame on kraft cardstock. The die set I used is Honey Bee Stamps Paper Hugs.
I die cut one of the patterned papers from the pack using Hero Arts nesting rectangle die to end up with a 4" x 5 1/4" panel. I inked the edges with a Tim Holtz Distress ink in Shaded Lilac.
I created the strips using a patterned paper from the pack. I trimmed each design and interchanged it to create a new pattern. I butted the three strips to each other and kept it together with tape on the back. I cut this in half so I can extend the ends to the corners of the panel to follow the sketch. Since the heart is a bit large, it covered this gap on the center.
Instead of cutting a new sheet to matte the panel, I used a scrap of patterned paper, trimming it into strips. I adhered the strips on the edges of a typing paper cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I used a craft knife to cut the corners diagonally. I used a Hero Arts Wood Frame die to add details to this frame. To achieve this, I replaced the cutting plate with an embossing mat and embossing shim. This step can be skipped because it is hardly noticeable with how narrow the matte came out to be.
I adhered the white patterned paper panel to the embossed frame panel. I adhered the strips to form the x just like on the sketch.
To add the interactive feature, I die cut a half inch hole on the upper center of the panel. I added a Pear Blossom Snap 'N Slide for the spinning mechanism. I adhered the heart to the top plastic piece. Once the glue has dried, I adhered the panel to a top folding note card with foam adhesive making sure that the foam pieces are adhered away from the Snap 'N Slide.
Since the heart spins, I can actually make this into a landscape card. Which orientation do you like the most?

Hello! Welcome back to my blog. This will be a photo filled post since I am featuring 4 cards today. I am using Photo Play products on all the cards. For the Valentine's cards, I am using Tulla & Norbert's Love Story Collection. On the Easter cards, I am using Hop To It Collection.
The first card is a shaker card. This is very easy to replicate since all you need is one of the cut-apart patterned papers. Not only that. I used one my extra clear plastic packaging to house the shakers. Just cover the panel with the clear plastic packaging. Secure the edges with a double adhesive tape. Remember to leave one side unsealed. This will be where you pour the shaker elements you want to add to complete the shaker card. I rubbed an anti-static dryer sheet to the inner side of the plastic packaging to prevent the sequins from getting stuck to the plastic. I also adhered some hearts to the cut-apart panel.
The second card is a slimline card. The pennant banner on this card was inspired by the pennant ephemera included in the pack. I don't have mine in my pack, so I recreated this using some patterned paper and dies. The sub-sentiment banner is also from the ephemera pack. One thing that I like about Photo Play is that they have a pre-colored print-out of the same images in the stamp set. If you are not a colorist, this is the perfect product for you! All you need is the die set which matches these images just like the stamps.
Now, it's time for the Easter cards. I am using products from the Photo Play Hop It Collection. This is their Easter/Spring collection. For the third card, I created another slimline card. I die cut one of the patterned papers in the collection using a slimline die that cuts scalloped windows. I created scenes on each window using the stickers from the sticker sheet. Isn't the bunny adorable?
The fourth card is an interactive card with a spinning element. The sticker sheet includes two stickers with a bunny on a basket, one facing front, and one facing backwards. It was not a perfect match when I lined it up but very close enough. If I am going to do this all over again, I will choose a smaller oval for the window. I feel that the window is too big in comparison to the bunny sticker. I added floral sequins to the spinner floss.

Hello! I created this card to join in Sugar Pea Designs June 2019 Mix It Up Challenge. I used both sketch and color inspirations in creating this card.
I stamped the pig images from the Sugar Pea Designs This Little Piggy stamp set. When I purchased this stamp set, I did not realize that it comes with mirror images of the pig. If I have known, I would have bought the coordinating stamp set. But anyway, I stamped this on Neenah Solar White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the pig with Copic markers and fussy cut each image, leaving a small white border around it.
I created the note card and front panel next. I die cut a stitched circle window on the white panel and light gray note card. I am using Bazzill Taffy cardstock cut into 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", and scored at 4 1/4" to create a side-folding note card. The circle die cut the white panel only and left an impression on the gray cardstock. I lined up the circle stitched die to this impression until it matched, then run it through the Sizzix die cut machine to cut the circle window.
I embossed the SugarCut Harlequin Cover Plate to the white window panel. I trimmed off the edges to create a 4" x 5 1/4" panel. Using the same die, I die cut scraps of cardstock and patterned paper from my stash to match the colors in the color inspiration challenge. I adhered this to the embossed white panel to re-create the pattern on the sketch. It looks like a bit of work doing this especially around the circle window but what I did is temporarily adhere the diamond die cuts to the circle die cut and cut the excess. This little pieces matched up with the embossed window panel.
Assembling the card, I applied a strong double adhesive tape to the back of the pig images. I adhered a string to this, then applied liquid glue. I applied the same double adhesive tape to the gray note card where the string will be adhered. Adding liquid glue to the back of the white panel, I positioned the panel so the circle windows line up.
I did not want to put anything to waste so I used the circle die cut as a background of the pig. I die cut another darker gray cardstock to create a ground for the pig. I added hearts to this circle which I pre-colored with a red Copic marker and added clear Wink of Stella.
It did not add a sentiment to the already busy front panel. Instead, I stamped the sentiment on the hill which gets revealed when the card is opened.

We have a brand new challenge atIncy Wincy Designs. We are featuring the Pantone Color of the Year, Living Coral. I am using an image from one of our challenge sponsors, SheepSkiDesigns.
I created a stencil using the Cricut Design Space and the ballerina image. I heat embossed a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Day stamp set and Altenew Golden Peach embossing powder. I adhered the negative cut stencil. I ink blended three shades of coral toned dye inks to the open space to create the ballerina silhouette. I then adhered the positive stencil cut to cover the inked area. I blended Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Abandoned Coral to the bottom left of the panel to make the embossed sentiment pop up. I splattered Prima Color Blooms Tea Stain to the panel. I set this to dry.
I die cut three panels of coral cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. I heat embossed a sentiment on one of these panels using a sentiment stamp from Hero Arts All Occasion Messages. I also used the same Altenew powder for this. I adhered this panel to a top folding white A2 note card. I also adhered one of the panels to the inner top fold of the note card. I poked a hole on the center of both top and bottom folds. I pass a thread through these holes, securing it with a double adhesive tape on the opposite side.
I printed the digital image using the CDS as well although I had troubles cutting the file this time. My needle got blunt too quick. I guess I have been using it a lot lately and/or I bought the lesser priced needle which does not guarantee many cuts as the Premium one. So I fussy cut the image leaving a small white border around it. The mirror images matched closed enough after cutting it. The white border also masked areas that not match.
I applied liquid glue and positioned this to the thread, adhering the mirror image to the back. Practice closing the card while the glue is still wet to see if there are any problems with the mechanism.
Now, adhere the front and back panels of the card to cover the end of the thread. I also used the left over negative die cut rectangle as a frame to the front panel.

It is a new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs. Our challenge for the next two weeks is on Dress Up! The image I am using on this card is from Limited Runs, one of our two sponsors for this challenge.
I am using Strathmore Watercolor paper, cut a sheet in half, making it 9"x6", then scored it at 4.5". This will be slightly larger than an A2 card for now but I will be trimming off the edges to make it an A2 sized card. I taped this to a board to lessen the warping of the paper as I watercolor. I applied a wider tape next to the score line to protect that side of the card. Using a flat brush, I applied water to the area. I am using Kuretake Gansai Tambi, dropping in colors to the wet area and allowing the water to spread the color. I dried this using a heat gun. I applied black and blue watercolor on top of the dried colors. I picked up some of the water using a paper towel. I dried this using a heat gun.
I uploaded the images to Cricut Design Space so I can print and cut it using the Cricut. Saved me time in fussy cutting =). I flipped the image to create a mirror image. I colored the images with Copic markers. I added details to the dress with a metallic pen to create the dots. I applied clear Wink of Stella to the moon. I added Ranger Glossy Accent to the wings. Now, the image is dressed up like a fairy. I adhered a floss of DMC thread to the back and sandwiched this with the mirror images.
I die cut a circle on one of the watercolored cards and on a piece of white cardstock which will serve as a backing to hide the string. I stamped stars around the circle window using several Lawn Fawn stamps (Lucky Stars and Yay Kites stamp sets). I heat embossed this with Wow! Metallic Gold Rich Regular embossing powder.
I positioned the string image to the center of the circle. I adhered the string to the back of the card front. I sandwiched this string with the white cardstock. I adhered the other watercolored panel to the inside of the card to create the trifold mechanism. I stamped a sentiment on the inner watercolored panel using a Lawn Fawn stamp (Lucky Stars), then heat embossed it in white powder.

New challenge time @ Incy Wincy Designs Blog with the theme being Black & White & Another Color. I am using an image from one of the sponsors for this challenge, SheepSki Designs.
I colored the image using Copic markers and color pencils. For accents, I used a metallic pen for the screws, a black glaze pen for the eyes and a red marker for the hearts, which is the other color in this card. I fuzzy cut the image leaving a white border around it.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Sentimental Circles set. I heat embossed the sentiment on white cardstock using a Recollections Charcoal embossing powder. I die cut two circles on black cardstock to reveal the sentiment. Using a Heidi Swapp Polka Dot stencil, I applied clear embossing paste by Wendi Vecchi mixed with Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress ink. I set this aside to dry.
Instead of using a penny, I die cut a circle from a leftover chipboard. I adhered foam adhesive to the back of the black cardstock. I adhered double layered square foam adhesive to the back of the image, then adhered this to the circle chipboard. I adhered this panel to a top folding white note card.
The robot now spins and slides at the bottom part of the circle which you can view on the video.
I made this card for my husband who celebrated is 'ty-6th birthday last Monday. Happy Birthday, Daddy!
