Heart Shaker Card & Stencil Pack Giveaway Winner

Hello! I am back at the BPM blog with this card. The BPM products I used are:

I repeatedly stamped on a white cardstock panel to create a heart frame.

I used alternate colors of ink for some variation.

I also did a watercolor resist technique to create the background panel of the shaker.

I lately am doing a trick on adding a faux matte behind my card panel. Instead of using a full sized A2 panel, I cut paper scrap strips at 1/2". I adhere these strips to the edges of the panel using the lines on the glass board to make sure the panel and the strip are aligned. Since my panel is cut at 4" x 5 1/4", adding the faux matte made it into a 4 1/2" x 5 3/4" panel. I used a die to cut this back into a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel. You can also use a paper trimmer if you like. This is not only a great way to save paper (not like I don't have more than enough paper) but it is also a great way to use those left over paper.

I added gems to the frame for additional bling. It is always satisfying to hear the sound the shaker elements make.

There are more details on this project in the blog. Please visit the BPM blog if you like.

As mentioned on the post title, it's time to announce the winner of the giveaway. There are 6 comments on all 3 posts. I utilized the roulette from the wheelofnames.com. I entered each commentor's name and spinned the wheel. The lucky commentor winning the BPM stencil set is...

Congratulations, Bo! To claim your prize, please email me at gmbatan@gmail.com with stencil winner as subject. Please include your name and address in the email. Glittered Stencil & a Giveaway!

Hello! I am at the Blank Page Muse blog with this mixed media panel. This is my last post for this month featuring stencils. The BPM stencil I used on this project is the BPM Pinecones stencil

After I blended ink on the stencil, I applied glitter gel to the panel over the stencil. I used a flexible spatula to apply the glitter over the stencil.

I inked the edges of the panel with a blending tool. I used a sticky mat while creating this mixed media project. It was very helpful in keeping the paper panel and the stencil in place. Another tool I used on this project is a rotating platform. Luckily, the sticky mat fits the platform. With the platform's rotating feature, I did not have to remove the panel from the sticky mat or rotate the sticky mat. I just have to rotate the platform to work on the area that I want to work on the panel.

A close-up of the panel. I blended ink on the glittered pinecones to give it some body.

Rotating Stencil to Create Background & a Giveaway

Hello! I am at the Blank Page Must Blog with this card. For the month of January, I am featuring BPM stencils. The BPM stencil I used here is the Monstera Leaves with Borders. There are two size options, a medium and a large. I used the medium size on my card.

I am ink blending over the stencil. Just like with any ink blending, the trick is to start with a light hand to prevent harsh lines. It is easier to add more color than to remove color. Use a heavy hand to add highlights on the image or better yet, use a smaller blending brush.

I die cut the sentiment on the stenciled panel. Blank Page Muse does not sell dies so feel free to use what you have or use a sentiment stamp instead.

For details on how to create this card, please visit the BPM blog

This is the second giveaway post. I am giving away a set of BPM stencils that was sent as extra to me by BPM's lovely owner, Kim (Thank you, Kim!). She agreed for me to offer it as a giveaway. A Shimmery Christmas Card, a Blank Page Muse Post

Hello! I am back at the Blank Page Muse blog with this card for an alternate take on Christmas theme. I was going for a steampunk design but ended up with a shimmery design for a card. But before I continue with the card, let me greet you all A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! I hope you are enjoying the holiday with your loved ones.

I used stamps from the Blank Page Muse Country Vintage Christmas Rubber Art Stamps Sheet Set. I did some embossing, fussy cutting and die cutting to create the scene. I used shimmer paper on this card except for the curved strip.

I used a Glad Press 'N Seal to preserve the arrangement of the stockings as I add liquid glue to the back of the cut outs.

I hope you like today's card. Please visit the Blank Page Muse blog for details on the process of how I created this card.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!

A Pink Christmas, An Alternate Take On Christmas, A Blank Page Muse Post

Hello! I am back at the Blank Page Muse blog with this card. For December, the team is doing an alternate take on Christmas theme. I created a mostly pink Christmas card, which is a non-traditional Christmas color. The Blank Page Muse stamps I used on this card are the Beyond the Border Christmas Stamp Set and the Country Vintage Christmas Rubber Art Stamps Set Sheet. I used a pink striped pattern paper from a Valentine paper collection, a very alternate take.

The card is mostly pink except for the sentiment which I embossed in black. I feel that if I made this pink, it will get lost in the busy pink background.

I hope you like today's card. Please visit the BPM blog for details on how I created this card. Thank you and have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!

Alternate Take on Christmas, a Blank Page Muse Post

Hello! I am back with another art journal page. For the month of December, the Blank Page Muse team is doing an Alternate Take on Christmas theme. For my journal page, I colored the pines with color blue instead of the traditional brown.

The BPM products I used on this page are BPM Pinecones stencil and the BPM Handwritten Note Art rubber stamp

I used Post-It Notes for masking. I also used small tipped blending brushes to apply ink for detailing and applying ink to small areas of the stencil.

I created a mask so I can apply ink all over the pine cones for a solid look. I used a very light blue ink for this purpose.

I stamped the handwritten stamp around the pine cones without using an acrylic block for an organic look.

I searched for a pine cone quote and wrote this on the page. I blended gray ink on the edge of the page to frame the quotation and the pine cone.

I hope you like today's page. Please visit the Blank Page Muse blog for more details.

Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
