Hello! Welcome back to my blog. I was only planning to create the card on the left but after I saw my left over cuts, instead of putting these negative cuts back to my stash, I decided to create something from it. 

I used Concord & 9th products mostly on both cards. I used the Aida Cloth Texture plate from The Greetery to add an mpression on the background of the first card. 

I die cut different colored cardstocks using the Concord & 9th Sunshine & Rainbows dies. I poked holes on each rainbow arch and added a chain link stitch on each arch using the same colored embroidery floss as the arch.

I die cut the strings on a white and gray cardstock. I layered the die cuts to add some volume. I sprayed mica on these string die cuts using a solution made of water and Perfect Pearl to add some shimmer.

I ran a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" gray cardstock with the Aida Texture Plate. I spritz a gray Prima Color Bloom to this panel. I heat set this to dry it. 

I stamped the sentiment on a white cardstock using a gray dye ink. The sentiment stamp is from the Concord & 9th Everyday Sayings stamp set. I fussy cut the sentiment. 

I adhered the rainbow arches to the strings. I adhered this to the panel with foam adhesive. I adhered the sentiment above the rainbow. 

I added matching color sequins to the rainbow. 

As I have mentioned at the start of this post, after seeing the left over cuts pictured above, I challenged myself to create another card using these negative cuts. I used the dome created by the arch die cut. 

The Concord & 9th die set includes dies that creates impressions to the arches. I impressed the largest arch die on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" gray cardstock. I used the largest negative cut as a stencil to add some ink blending to this impressed details. I used the same gray dye ink I used to stamp the sentiment on my first card.

I impressed the rest of the arch dies on the next two arches. For the teal, the smallest negative cut, I used a heart die from Trinity Stamps. This die does not cut the heart but creates a stitched heart impression on the cardstock. 

I die cut stitching holes on the same gray cardstock panel. I used an old Concord & 9th die set for this. I stitched the word using a gray DMC floss. To add some sparkle, I used a metallic DMC floss to add a whipped stitched to the gray DMC floss. 

I adhered the domes on top of each other with a foam adhesive.  I spritz the same gray Prima Color Bloom to the panel then heat set it to dry the panel.

I painted the heart with clear Wink of Stella for some shimmer.

I enjoyed creating these two cards especially after being able to create a second card using the negative cuts from the first card. I enjoyed it even more because I get to stitch.

Simon Says: Emboss It

Doodling with Stencil to Create Faux Wax Seals with a Bonus Card

 

Hello! Welcome back to my blog. Today's project features one of the many creative ways in using a stencil. I created faux wax seals using the Waffle Flower Wax Seal die. As much as I am fascinated with this craft, I have not invested on the supplies needed for it. I settled with the alternative way of creating wax seals with use of the die set and embossing powder.

On different shades of red cardstock, which are mostly from my paper stash, I traced the mushroom using the Blank Page Muse Cute Muhrooms Stencil. I used gold glitter gel pens with different tip sizes. I added details to the mushrooms by adding dots and lines. 

I die cut the layers of the wax seal on red cardstock. I adhered the layers together. I blended gold dye ink on the top most layer of the wax seal. To make this into a faux wax seal, I embossed the wax seal using Versamark ink and Wow! Ultra High clear embossing powder. These wax seals are now ready for use. You can adhere this on the flap of an envelope or use it to embellish your project. You can use other stamp images and die cuts in place of the mushroom as long as it fits the circular space of the wax seal die cut.

With the layered die cutting of the wax seals, I came up with all these circle die cuts. Instead of adding it to my circle die cut stash, I created a matching card for the wax seals.

I repeated the process of drawing the mushroom with the use of the stencil, and adding details to the mushrooms. I drew the mushroom on the red circle die cuts.

For the card panel, I trimmed a kraft cardstock at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I used a stamp from the BPM Scribble & Scratch Mixed Media Set 2 to add a subtle background to the panel. I used a kraft dye ink to stamp the image. 

I adhered the circle left over die cuts to this panel. I adhered a small x die cut in between the circles to mimic stitching in between the circles. The x was die cut on matte gold cardstock. The die I used is from Paper Smooches.

For the sentiment, I die cut this on matte gold cardstock using a die from Concord & 9th. I layered this die cut sentiment with another die cut for a bit of dimension.

Die Cut on Patterned Paper

 

Hello! Welcome back to my blog. We have a new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs. The challenge themes is/are about Sentiments and/or Die Cuts only or Birds and the Bees. You can win one or both prizes, depending on which part of the challenge you plan to participate on. Please visit the challenge blog for more details. 

For my card, I am using a bird die from Simon Says Stamp and a flower die set from Concord & 9th. The patterned paper I am using is from Craft Consortium. I strategically die cut the layers to create depth and color variation on the bird and the flowers. 

The bird die created detailed cut lines which I emphasized with a white Sakura Glaze pen.

I lightly added sticky ink to the flower edges and poured iridescent embossing powder to it, then heat set it for a bit of shimmer.

For the background panel, I am using a light blue cardstock cut at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". I embossed this with a 3D floral embossing folder from Altenew. I inked the embossing folder with blue dye inks, then ran this through the die cut machine again to transfer the ink to the cardstock panel. I did this twice using two different shades of blue dye ink.

For the flat portion of the cardstock panel, I did ink smooshing using the same blue dye inks I used on the embossing folder. 

I stamped the sentiment using a pink dye ink, then adhered the die cuts to the panel. I adhered this to a top folding vertical top folding A2 note card.

If you don't have a patterned paper like this, you can create your own especially if you have alcohol inks. I don't have alcohol inks so this is a great way of achieving the look of alcohol inks.

Two For One: Die Cut and Emboss with a Metal Die

 

Hello! Welcome back to my blog. I created this card for the latest challenge at Incy Wincy Designs. I am the author of this challenge. For this challenge, I decided to step it up a notch by adding another challenge theme to our usual two theme challenges. The challenge elements are floral, color and sketch. Choose one, mix and match or choose all three themes for a bit of fun. I can't wait to see your take on these themes.

 

I am using an image from one of our challenge sponsors. I printed this on Arches watercolor paper. I tried foiling it but I only have the cold press watercolor paper which is not very smooth to catch the foil. Got to get me some of those hot press watercolor paper. 

I colored the image with Altenew Woodless watercolor pencils. I colored the image with two of the colors from the color inspiration. I added some yellow Wink of Stella to the flowers which I muted down with the clear Wink of Stella for some shimmer. I wasn't able to capture it in photo but the effect is cool in real life. I die cut this into a circle using a circle stitched die from Simon Says Stamp. 

To add the sentiment, I fussy cut the same image which I printed on printer paper. I temporarily adhered this to cover the image, making sure both are matched up. Using the Misti Stamping Tool, I stamped the sentiment using a blue dye ink. The sentiment stamp is from Simon Says Stamp called Sentimental Circles.

For the sketch elements, I am using a die from Simon Says Stamp called Air Vent. I die cut several cardstocks using this die. I am using the last three colors from the color inspiration. I created three rows of the Air Vent on the center strip. To create some variation to this, I die cut the back side for the center row. 

For the upper and lower strips, instead of die cutting, I embossed the same metal die to the purple and pink cardstock. I trimmed it to make it a bit skinny. I colored the diagonal stripes with Copic Markers in the same color. 

For the background panel,  I trimmed a cream cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4". I embossed this with a dotted embossing folder. I adhered the strips. I adhered the circle with foam adhesive. 

For the sub-sentiment, I heat embossed this on the same blue cardstock I used on the middle panel. The stamp is from Concord & 9th called Sew Pretty stamp set . I used a white embossing powder. I fussy cut this leaving a small border around it. I adhered this to the card panel, adding foam tape to the part of the sentiment where it overhangs the circle. 

I added some color coordinated sequins to the panel.

Sketch Inspired Christmas Card (Craft My Stash #22)

 

Hello! Welcome back to my Craft My Stash series in which I feature my oldie but goodie craft products. It has been a long time since I last added a post in this series. I am just so glad to get back on the swing of things.

I also created this card for the following reasons:

• To join in the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge on Flowers.
• To join in My Favorite Stamps Sketch Challenge. 
• To join Simon Says Monday Challenge on Add Texture.

I started off by choosing my patterned papers from Pebbles Merry Merry paper pad. I die cut a brown patterned paper using the MFT Die-namics Mason Jar Mug. I have scraps of mason jar mug die cuts which I adhered to the back of the brown mason jar mug die cut for some dimension. I inked the edges with a brown dye ink. I keep those scraps inside the die sleeve. You never know when it can come in handy.

I snipped a part of the cut apart paper from the same paper pad. I trimmed off a part of the edges and rounded the corners to make it fit the mason jar. I applied shimmer to some of the flowers using clear Spectrum Noir shimmer pen.

For the panel, I trimmed a dotted green patterned paper from the paper pack into 4 1/4". The length does not really matter because I will die cut a stitched curved line into this using the Mama Elephant Borderline Trios Creative Cuts. For the background panel, I trimmed a green cardstock to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I am trying out Jennifer McGuire's technique on Adding Color with Embossing Folder but I only have Perfect Pearl to use so there is not much of an impact to the embossed panel other than adding shimmer to some areas. I adhered the curved patterned paper to the top left of this panel.

For the poinsettia, I die cut this on red pearl cardstock using Paper Smooches Merry Motif die set. I secured the die cut to the negative cut with tape. I stamped the matching image to the die cut using a red dye ink. Since the paper is glossy, I stamped it several times for a darker impression. I set this aside to dry. For the leaf, I die cut this on green pearl cardstock using Concord & 9th Lace Leaf die set. I stamped the matching leaf on this using a darker colored green ink. I set this aside to dry.

For the sentiment, I got inspired by a Pebbles glittered sticker sheet so I re-created this using the Mama Elephant In Line Letters stamp set. I used the Misti Stamping Tool so I can re-stamp the letters just in case I did not get a good impression the first time I stamp it. I stamped the letters on white cardstock using Versamark ink. I poured Ranger Red Tinsel embossing powder to the letter, then heat embossed it. I fussy cut the letters, leaving a small white border around it.

For the sub-sentiment, I heat embossed this on white cardstock using white embossing powder. The stamp is from Mama Elephant Happy Everything stamp set. I trimmed this into a skinny strip.

I adhered the mason jar to the center of the panel, a little more to the top to leave space on the bottom for the sentiment. I adhered the poinsettia and leaves next to the mason jar, tucking some of it under the mason jar. I adhered the letters next, using the dot embossing as a guide in lining it up straight. I adhered the sentiment strip after. I zhuzh the flowers and the leaves for some dimension.

Rainbow Platform Pop-up Card

Hello! I am a guest designer at Scrapping4funChallenges for Challenge 212 with the theme, Anything Goes. 

I created an interactive card for the challenge using the Lawn Fawn Platform Pop Up die. I am going to explore the possibilities of what I can create using this die. This is the second time I used this die (Glow in the Dark Platform Card.) I think I will keep creating more cards using this die set until I run out of ideas.

I am using the Concord & 9th Rainbow Stitches & String dies for the rainbow. I die cut different patterned papers from Craft Consortium Vivid 6x6 paper pad, making sure that I positioned my die to cut on the red, yellow and green parts of the patterned papers. I cut matching cardstock for the rainbow layers to create some depth to the rainbow. I applied shimmer to the top rainbow layer using Spectrum Noir Clear shimmer pen.

For the tabs, I used acetate, but you can use regular cardstock for this. I die cut some clouds for the first two front tabs using Taylored Expression Rolling Clouds die. I added glitter to the edge of the clouds. 

For the sentiment, I heat embossed this on one of the patterned papers from the pad. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things Cheerful Blessing stamp set. This is my go-to sentiment with rainbows. I die cut this using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die. The sentiment is longer than the rectangle when cut so I did partial die cutting to extend the length of the stitched rectangle. I die cut the wrapped around trim on the same patterned paper using a die included in the LF Platform Pop Up die set. 

I added holographic heart die cuts. The heart die is from the C&N Rainbow Stitches & String die set.

Cat Scene Gift Tag

 

Hello! Welcome back to my blog. I created this tag with several inspirations. I am joining the Newton's Nook Blog challenge, thus, explain the cat image. I am also joining Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas. And lastly, when there's a cat image, it is automatic that one of my sister's cats will be the model. For this time, I colored the cat with one of her kittens, Lit, as the inspiration.

We know how kittens can be very playful especially around a Christmas tree. I chose my stamp images based on this idea. I made sure that the area I will be stamping my scene on fits inside the frame that I use to create the tag. I stamped the cat on a white cardstock. I created a mask of this cat image as well. The image is from Newton's Nook Designs Flower Garden stamp set. I partially inked the stamp since in the stamp, the cat is smelling a butterfly. I covered the butterfly with some tape to avoid inking it while I apply the ink to the cat image.

I stamped the tree, also doing some partial stamping. The stamp is from Ellen Hutson Homespun Holiday stamp set. The stamp image is of a tree spine on a bag. I just added ink to the tree spine. I used a light dye ink for the stamping since I will be stitching on this tree.

I colored the cat with Copic markers. 

I poked holes on the tree for stitching. I used DMC Diamant Gold and Black, and Green Metallic Threads. For the ornaments I die cut a red mirror cardstock using a die from the Lawn Fawn Mini Wreath die set.

To mute the stark white background, I colored the background with Copic marker.

I stamped the sentiment on the panel which was double stampe. I did not like the green colored sentiment, so I decided to stamp it again with a red ink. The thing is, I removed the stamp and the panel out of the Misti. I did my best to align the stamp over the stamped sentiment. But you know, sometimes you got this stained stamp. Not to forget my poor eyesight sums up to an offset re-stamp. Uuggh! But it looks like it was stamped that way, so I let it be. 

I die cut a green pearl cardstock using the Li'l Inker Designs Fringed Scalloped Rectangle die. To make this into a frame, I used a smaller rectangle to die cut the window. I adhered this frame to the colored panel. I trimmed off the excess. 

To make this into a die, I added the ribbon/twine holder by die cutting a red pearl cardstock with the Concord & 9th Bags and Tags die set. I die cut two pieces and adhered this together, with the wrong sides facing each other. I adhered this to the back of the colored panel making sure it is centered. To keep the layering even, I adhered two layers of scrap cardstock to the back of the colored panel. 

For the back panel, I don't have a rectangle die that matches the size of the front-colored panel. I lightly traced the edges of the colored panel to a white cardstock. I trimmed this cardstock using these traced marks as guide. I stamped the To and From sentiments to this panel. The stamps are from Avery Elle Holiday Circle Tags clear stamp set. I stamped these using a red dye ink. I adhered this to the back of the layered front panel. I cut off the edges.

I threaded a Lawn Fawn Gold Sparkle Single Cord through the hole of the tab.

Christmas Tags Using Strips And Washi Tape, And first Ever Live Stream

Hello! Welcome back to my blog. Today's project is made as part of my first ever livestream at Debbie J's Crafting Corner YouTube Channel wherein we created Christmas tags.  

I don't have a tag die large enough to fit the tree frame tag. I created one with the use of a rounded rectangle die and a tag die. I die cut a gold, silver and white cardstocks using a rounded rectangle die from Honey Bee Gift Card Present Box Dies. For the tag portion, I die cut this on the same cardstocks using Concord & 9th Bags And Tags Die Set. I adhered a metallic tag die cut to the white tag die cut. 

I added detail to the metallic rectangular die cuts using Li'l Inker Designs Quilted Stitched Pattern. I die cut a window using a Lawn Fawn Stitched Christmas Tree Frames die. I traced the window on the inner side of the white rectangular die cut. I applied the patterned paper strips/washi tape to cover this penciled area. 

For the back of the tag, I stamped to and from using Mama Elephant Confetti Stamp Set.

I die cut more Lawn Fawn Stitched Christmas Tree Frames for additional accent to the tag.

Putting the tag together,  I sandwiched the tag die cut in between the window rectangular piece and the white cardstock. I trimmed off any excess. I adhered the same colored tree frame by piecing it on the tree window. I adhered the contrasting tree frame next. 

I created the sentiment strip by heat embossing the sentiment on a white cardstock using dye inks and Versamark ink. I poured clear embossing powder to this and heat set it. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Abstract Holiday Stamp Set. I die cut this into a strip using Avery Elle Simple Sentiments Elle-ments Die Set.

I added a star gem on top of the tree. I added sequins to the tree. I also added glitters to one of the trees. I threaded a twine through the tag hole. I adhered a bow on the front. 

Preparing for a live stream can be anxiety provoking. There is some pressure on what to create. If not for the live stream, coming up with an idea of a project will not be a difficult task. To overcome this, I took a deep breath, looked at my supplies and pulled out things that I know I will enjoy creating with. But this is just a part of it. The live stream is another challenge. The experience was great. If I am going to do it again, let us just wait and see.

Card Recipe Inspired Fall Card (Crafting Away From Home #5)

 

Hello! Welcome back to another card I created as part of my Crafting Away From Home series. This is the 5th card created in the series. I also created this card for the Scrapbook And Cards Fall Issue Recipe Challenge. The card recipe includes a journaling card/die cut, patterned paper, alphabet sticker and stamp. The Scrapbook And Cards Blog is currently down. I will link the challenge once the blog is back up.

I am using a Simple Stories Autumn Splendor patterned paper and the ephemera pack. I used a plaid tone on tone green patterned paper as the main panel which I cut at 5" x 3 3/4". I adhered leaves from the ephemera pack. I used American Crafts Thickers to create the main sentiment of the card. To create the sub-sentiment, I used a sentiment stamp from Concord & 9th Rainbow Sayings stamp set. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink for the stamping. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap patterned paper from the pack. I trimmed this to create it into a strip.

I emphasized the white line on the alphabet stickers with a broad white Sakura Gelli Roll pen. I added a white outline using the medium tip Sakura Gelli Roll pen. 

I trimmed another patterned paper at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". I adhered the green patterned paper panel to this.

Rainbow Colors Inspired Greeting Card (Crafting Away From Home #2)

Hello! We have a new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs. The challenge theme is Rainbow/Multicolour And/Or Monsters. 

At the same time, welcome to a new blog series called  Crafting Away From Home. This is my second post on this series. Technically, this is the first project I made away from home. Unlike my first series post, this card has a schedule to go live. 

I hardly create away from home because I feel that I do not bring enough craft supplies that I will need to create a card. But I am away from home for awhile. I planned the projects that I need and wanted to create. I am making sure that my projects will be using  similar supplies. I printed and stamped my images as well as part of that craft away from home planning.

The images are printed on Strathmore Bristol paper. I colored the image using Akashiya Sai Watercolor Brush pen. I applied the color on a palette and picked it up with a water brush. I fussy cut the image leaving a small white border around the image. 

For the card panel, I trimmed a 5 1/2" and a 4 1/4" heavy weight Neenah Solar white cardstock. I applied a light wash of color. Not the most ideal paper to do this technique but it is the only paper I brought with me. The paper warped a little but once it was adhered to a note card, the warping is unnoticeable.

I planned the layout of my images and the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment using a stamp from Concord & 9th Rainbow Sayings stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I set this aside to dry.

I was not able to bring some foam tape with me. I really want some dimension so I cut little pieces of scrap Bristol paper. I layered it and adhered it to the back of the image. I adhered the images to the panel. 

I added white gel pen details to the images.
