Song and Movie Inspired Platform Greeting Card with Glow in the Dark

Hello! I created this interactive card to join in Lawn Fawn's latest challenge. I got my inspiration from two things:
  1. Coldplay's song, A Sky Full of Stars. It became my favorite after I heard it sang by Johnny in the animated movie, Sing 2. Johnny, the ape, is my most favorite character in the movie.
  2. The animated movie Turning Red. I colored the image as a red panda.
I worked on the back panel by die cutting a black cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Platform Pop-up Add-on die. I heat embossed the stars to this using the LF Upon A Star stamp set. I used the Misti Stamping Tool to repeatedly stamp on this panel. I embossed it three times, alternating with Wow! Neon Yellow and Glow in the Dark embossing powders. I added metallic colors to the background to achieve the galaxy look. I added gold to the inside of stars.

I die cut the platform using the LF Platform Pop-up die on a navy cardstock. Before assembling, I die cut some stars on the platform using a die from Ellen Hutson. I adhered a holographic paper to the back of the star openings. I proceeded in assembling the platform.

For the details, I die cut the grass on green cardstock. The grass die is part of the LF Platform Pop-up die set. I did partial die cutting of the grass on one of the green cardstocks so I can extend its length.

I stamped the heart shaped galaxy of stars on black cardstock and embossed it the same way I did with the back panel. I also colored the inside of the stars using the same paint. I die cut this using the matching die. I die cut another extra which I will use as a backing. I adhered the stamped heart on a clear acetate. I adhered the extra heart die cut to the back for more stability. I adhered this to the back most tab. This heart also wobbles which adds another interactive feature to the card.

I stamped the image on a white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers. I die cut this using the matching die. I die cut two more pieces and layered it for a raised look.

For the sentiment, I die cut a light gray cardstock using the stitched rectangle that comes with the die set. I did partial inking to create the sentiments. The words stars and you came from LF Lucky Stars stamp set. The remaining space is too small for my LF alphabet stamps so I typed the rest of the message.

I created this into a card by adhering a thin strip of cardstock to the top of both rectangle die cuts to connect it.

Below is a photo of the stars when it glows in the dark.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
