Hello! I created this card to join Newton's Nook's latest blog challenge on Favorite NND Stamp Set. My favorite NND stamp set is Newton's Book Club stamp set. This stamp set is one of my first purchased NND stamp sets. I bought this stamp set for my sister because she loves to read and she has a lot of cats. I usually color Newton the cat with one of her cats as the model. For today's cat, I am coloring it with Kenny, my sister's only yellow cat, as the model.
I stamped the image on Neenah Solar White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the image with Copic markers then color pencils for the details and for some re-touching. I fussy cut the image leaving a small white border around it.
For the card front panel, I die cut a purple patterned paper using a stitched rectangular frame from the Mama Elephant Peek A Frame Creative Cuts die set. I die cut a square window using the Concord & 9th Love You So Die. I am also die cutting the word 'love' from the same die set to this panel. To help out with the alignment, I stamped the coordinating stamp to the area with Versamark ink, poured embossing powder over it, then heat set it. You don't have to emboss it but I just found it easier to line up the metal dies to the embossed letters especially since I am using a dark colored paper.
I die cut the same letters on a lighter colored patterned paper. I die cut a square patterned paper using the die I used to die cut the window. I applied tape to the back of the panel, right around the area where the letters are. I pieced in the letters. I added details to the flourish design of the patterned paper using a metallic blue gel pen. I added flicks of white ink and set this to dry.
For the square cut patterned paper, I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I poured clear embossing powder to the area then heat set it.
I adhered the panel to a white top folding note card. I pieced in the square cut patterned paper. I adhered the image with foam adhesive. I added Ranger Glossy Accents to the glasses.
Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
