Vellum Christmas Crystal Ornaments Card

Hello! I created this card to take part in Hero Arts' Blog Challenge. I am using the Hero Arts Christmas Crystals stamp set. I first stamped the crystals on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" typing paper to allow me to visualize how the cluster of crystals will look. I lined each crystal stamp to this template then stamped each crystal with Tim Holtz Weathered Wood Distress Ink using the Misti Stamping Tool. I am using a red cardstock cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I painted these crystals at first but with the type of vellum I used, it wasn't showing through the vellum. So I changed gears with this card. Remember the template I created? I made this into a stencil. With the use of a craft knife, I cut off the crystals which is not too hard at all since the crystals have straight edges. I lined this made up stencil to the stamped crystals. I applied Deco Foil Transfer Gel to the open area of the stencil. I removed the stencil and set this aside to dry.

After the transfer gel has dried, I covered the gelled areas with scrap pieces of foil. I sandwiched this inside a folded parchment paper and an extra piece of cardstock. I fed this through the Minc Machine.

I added some stitch detailing to this red cardstock by die cuttting it with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangular Wafer die.

I treated a piece of Clearprint heavy vellum with an anti-static tool. I stamped the crystals using Versamark ink. I poured Wow! Glitter Midas Touch embossing powder to this, then heat set it. I fussy cut the crystals. I watercolored the crystals using Finetec Pearl Colors Metallic Golds. I set this aside to dry, putting something heavy on top of it to control the warping. I added adhesive to these vellum crystals using a Sticker Maker. I then adhered this to the red cardstock making sure I lined the cut up crystal to the glittered crystal on the cardstock. I threaded a silver floss through the top of the crystals and taped this to the back of the cardstock. I created bows using the same thread then adhered this to the top of the crystals.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed this using HA White embossing powder. The sentiment is from the HA Holiday Sayings.

I adhered this to a top folding A2 note card. The vellum crystals remind me of the Capiz shells in the Philippines.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
