Mixing Digital Stamps and Card Stitching
Hello! We have a new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs. The challenge is called Sweet N' Sassy. Our sponsors for this challenge are Bugaboo Stamps and Sticker.You. We are also having a Design Team Call. Hope you join us in either way or better yet, on both!
As soon as I saw this image, the only person I can think of to create this card for is my sister and her cats. If you've been following my blog or have visited my blog in the past, you will see that any cat related image is colored with my sister and her cats as inspiration.
I started of by printing the image on Arches Coldpress watercolor paper. I die cut the Paper Smooches Cross Stitch die on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" 80 lb. Neenah Solar White cardstock.
I masked the edges of this panel. I ink blended the top portion of the holed area using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Broken China and Salty Ocean to create a sky background.
I stitched the bottom area to create a brick wall to create the scene. I used DMC Floss Blanc and 918.
I wanted to add clouds to the sky area. I stamped some clouds which are from the Lawn Fawn Yay, Kites! stamp set. I could have left the stamped clouds alone but I decided to stitch it, too. I first added some shading using Spectrum Noir Blue Topaz and Clear shimmer pens. I don't have a metallic DMC floss. To use what supply I have on hand, I added Cross silver thread to the DMC 930 floss. It was a bit of challenge using two threads with different texture but as long as you add the same amount of tension to both threads, it should be fine.
I colored the image using Tim Holtz Distress markers and Akashiya Sai watercolor brush pens. I started coloring with TH but I don't have enough marker colors so I switched to the Sai pens.
I fussy cut the image, leaving a very tiny border around the edges so I don't have to re-draw the cat's whiskers which will be hard on the holed background paper. I added details on the image using my colored gel pens.
I adhered the girl on the holed cardstock using Tim Holtz Distress Collage medium. I applied acrylic blocks over the image while the adhesive is drying.
I added Nuvo Drops Autumn Red to the heart included in the image. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom using Mama Elephant Stargazer pigment ink. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things Snuggle Bunnies.
I cut off an eight of an inch from the the top and sides. I adhered this to a white top folding A2 notecard.
Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day! See you in the challenge blog!

Digital Image Shaker Card & Foiled Digital Sentiment
It is time for a new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs Challenge Blog. For the next two weeks, the challenge is on No More Than 3 Colours (Excluding Black and White). I hope you join us in this challenge. Don’t forget to specify the three colors you used on your submitted creation.
This unicorn image and matching sentiment is from Bugaboo. It is very challenging to color a unicorn with only three colors. Thanks to Google, I was able to come up with an idea on how to color this unicorn. My colors are blue, pink and orange. I used Tim Holtz Distress markers, an orange Wink of Stella and a blue Spectrum Noir Shimmer marker to color the unicorn. I used three colors but in varying hues so I hope it still counts.
I printed the images using a toner inked printer. I used the Minc machine to foil the sentiment. The teal foil is from Deco Foil. I sprayed this sentiment panel with a pink Prima Color Bloom spray.
To create the lay-out, I wanted to create a stitched window for the shaker window. The Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die doesn’t have the right size of rectangle that I need to create the window. So I partially die cut the second to the largest stitched rectangle die. I think that among all the dies I own, this SSS Stitched Rectangle die is my most used die. Partial die cutting extends the use of this die so I am not limited to just what the exact size of this die is. I also used this die to emboss the stitched on the foiled sentiment panel. I used the scrap of cardstock from the window cut to mat the foiled sentiment panel. I have to die cut one of the edges off to have the same size of border around the foiled sentiment panel. Since this is the same cardstock as the window cardstock panel, I colored the edges with the blue Spectrum Noir Shimmer marker. I wiped it off with a rag since the cardstock is shimmery, I expect a long drying time for the ink or it might not dry at all. Wiping the ink off actually muted the blue color which I actually like.
To create the shaker, I adhered an acetate to the back of the window panel. I applied dimensional tape around the window and the back of this panel. I poured orange Studio Calico & Martha Stewart sequins on the unicorn panel, then adhered the foam window panel to it, centering the unicorn on the acetate window. I don’t know about you but for me this is the cleanest way of doing shakers. Before, I would pour the shaker elements to the acetate, then adhere the panel to this. Most of the time, I end up with a mess. Either I adhered it wrong or the sequins get stuck to the sticky part of the foam adhesive.
Moving along, I adhered this to a top folding A2 sized horizontal note card. I then adhered the foil sentiment to the right of the window. And, this finishes of my card. Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed and brilliant day!

Red and Green Non-Christmas Gatefold Card
I am late in creating a card for our latest Incy Wincy Designs Challenge on Red and Green. This challenge runs for a whole month! It took me an extra week to finally get to it since the holidays kept me busy and I got a bit of a flu, too. Thanks to my sons! I am glad to be back.
Do you have one of those days wherein you already have a plan for your card but decided to do something else, only to find out that you will go back to your original plan because the new plan didn't work? This is one of those projects. I changed my original plan after I've put together all the supplies I was planning to use. I wanted to try out the new dies I've bought that's why I changed my design. After several tries and changes, it still wasn't working. Thanks to my eldest son, to whom I frequently ask for feedback, I went back to my original design.
I am using an 8 1/4" x 5 1/2" white cardstock. I scored this at 2 1/8" on both ends creating a gatefold card. When folding, make sure the ends meet so there will be no gap in between that could reveal a part of the inner card. I adhered different patterned papers on both flaps, one from Bo Bunny and the other, from Authentique.
I printed the image on watercolor paper. The image is from one of our sponsors for this challenge, Bugaboo stamps. I colored the image using Gansai Tambi Kuretake watercolor, mixing the silver with the red and green to add some sheen to the dark pigmented colors. I painted this mix on the flowers and the leaves. I painted the vase gold. I die cut the image using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Square die. I watercolored the edges of this image paenl with the same gold watercolor I used for the vase.
For the sentiment, I am using a stamp from the Altenew Label Love stamp set. I embossed this using Wow! Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder. I used a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen to trace the letters on the label stamped impression and make it pop.
For the layer, I adhered a red patterned washi tape around the edges of a white cardstock. For the sentiment, I covered a white cardstock with the same washi tape. I adhered the image panel and sentiment strips using adhesive foam.
To finish off the card, I applied a strong adhesive to just a side of the back of the image. For the image, I applied adhesive on the back right side. I adhered this to the left gate panel of the card. For the sentiment strip, I did the opposite. I applied the adhesive on the left side of back of the sentiment strip, then adhered this to the right gate panel.
I applied dew drops to the center of the flowers for added embellishment.
I hope you join our latest challenge. There is still a long way to go before the challenge ends.
Have a blessed & brilliant day!

Creating Two Cards Using Cricut
This is another post on creating two cards at once using the same resources. I have made another pair of cards using the same resource. You can see the details of these cards on a previous post entitled Creating Two Cards Using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide.
My intention in creating today's card is to post it as part of Incy Wincy Designs Challenge on Friends Forever which started last Monday. I love the Kitties image by Bugaboo Stamps. My inspiration in coloring the cats is my sister's cats Bee & Peppy. I colored the cats using Copic markers. After coloring, I fuzzy cut the image.
Working on the card, I die cut the word hugs on an American Crafts patterned paper. I strategically positioned the word to be die cut at the center of the 6x6 patterned paper. I am using the negative die cut for this card. I die cut 3 more of the word hugs using white cardstock. You may use colored cardstock instead. It is just that I couldn't find a matching cardstock so I just used a white cardstock. I blended Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass Distress ink on one of the sets. I pounced blue Perfect Pearls on these letters and set it with a spritz of water.
For the other set of words, I colored the edges with a blue Copic marker. I ran the marker on the edges too. I adhered the letters on top of each other to create a dimensional text sentiment for the card. Coloring the edges of the white die cut letters made it look like colored cardstock when it was stacked on top of the other. I puzzle piece the letters to the negative die cut paper. I adhered paper strips from the same patterned paper to the top and bottom of the panel. I applied clear Wink of Stella to these strips for extra shimmer. The cats are adhered with adhesive foam. For additional embellishment, I added dots of Sakura Souffle marker to the flowers.
For the next card, I am using the positive cut of the die cut sentiment. I didn't want to keep this aside for a later project because chances are, I will forget about it. While my supplies are out, might as well create another card using it. I pressed the Tsukineko Essential Glue Pad to each letter. I poured clear Wow! Ultra High embossing powder to it. It took me about 3 coats to get the right amount of gloss to the letters. The letters curled as it dried. I tried straightening the letters by applying something heavy on top of it but somehow, this didn't work.
The cats were colored with Copic markers. No cat inspiration this time. I embossed a paper from the same paper line with a heart We R Memory Keepers Next Level embossing folder. I blended a white Hero Arts dye ink on the edges of the paper. I applied Glossy Accents to the back of the letters, thenI gently pressed the curled up letters to the paper. I adhered the cats using foam adhesive. I glued several sequins with Ranger Multi Matte Medium as a finishing touch.
Thank you for visiting my blog. Happy a blessed and brilliant day!

Combined Digis Friendship Card
Hello. It is time for a new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs Challenge Blog. Our theme for this challenge is Friends Forever. My images are from one of our challenge sponsors, Bugaboo. I printed both images in Neenah cardstock. I colored the images using Copic markers. I trimmed the computer image. I cut out the center of the computer using a craft knife to create a window. I lined the screen cut out with black marker for a finished look. I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's card to do this technique.
I colored the sheep and rabbit images with Copic markers. I also colored the background using Copic markers. I used other markers to color since some of the images are small for the brush tip of Copic. But I saw that Copic sells fine tip nibs now. I can't wait to try it!
I positioned the sheep and the rabbit so it will be centered on the monitor. Using a pencil, I lightly outlined the monitor on the sheep and rabbit panel to give me an idea on how big I should cut this panel. I adhered an acetate to the back of the computer to cover the window. I adhered the sheep and rabbit panel using adhesive foam. I applied clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents to the keyboard keys.
For the layered panels, I dry embossed a kraft cardstock with a Cuttlebug Charles embossing folder. I dry embossed a black cardstock with a Cuttlebug Houndstooth embossing folder. I matted these two panels on top of each other with the kraft cardstock on top. I applied more clear Wink of Stella to the edges of a white top folding note card. Since my black panel is smaller than a regular sized card, the shimmered edges will show. I adhered the panels and the computer panel to this. I customized the sentiment using Lawn Fawn Violet's ABC's Clear stamps stamped with Versafine Onyx Ink.
Thanks for visiting my blog. Join us in today's challenge. I cannot wait to see your creations.

Glittered Digital Images
For today's bi-weekly Incy Wincy Designs Challenge, the theme is Thank You Cards. My digital image is from Bugaboo. Isn't this bear adorable? I printed the images on watercolor paper. I colored the images using Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. I printed the images on scrap paper, too which I used as a guide to fuzzy cut the double-sided adhesive paper. I adhered the adhesive paper on top of the digital images. I worked on an image at a time. After I removed the release paper, I poured Elizabeth Craft Cool Diamond Glitter on top of the image. I rubbed my finger onto the glittered image to make the glitter smooth-looking. That is what I like about this particular glitter.
For the sentiment, I die cut a red cardstock using a Lawn Fawn die. The strip sentiment is from Honey Bee stamps. I stamped this on vellum using a red dye ink. The good thing about stamping on vellum is the stamped impression remains wet for a while. I poured cleared embossing powder onto this and heat embossed it. I made sure that the heat tool is warm enough before zapping it to the vellum to prevent warping of the vellum. I adhered this to the card front. I applied Ranger Glossy Accents to the thanks sentiment for added dimension.
I did not notice that my images are not centered vertically. I have an option to trim this and make this as a panel that I can layer onto a note card. But I really want to create a one layered card. To cover up the space on the top of the card, I cut a wide strip of vellum and die cut it using a Mama Elephant border die. After I positioned the vellum on top of the card, I scored the vellum and folded it. I applied a very narrow double sided tape to each side of the score line on the vellum. I adhered this to the top of the card.
I added some splatters using a gold watercolor ink to the sides of the images. To finish the card, I punch the bottom corners of the card.
Hope you can join us in this bi-weekly challenge.
Have a blessed & brilliant day!

Collage Nativity Card
The challenge for me in creating this card is coming up with coordinating embellishments to re-create the lay-out of the sketch in today's bi-weekly Incy Wincy Designs Challenge. I used Copic markers to color the image. I later end up fuzzy cutting it leaving a small white border.
For the background (which is just one of many =)), I used Strathmore Bristol paper to blend Tim Holtz Distress inks. I blended Tumbled Glass to the whole panel, which is about 4 1/2" x 5". I have no definite plans at this point so I ink blended the whole panel. I masked one part at a time to create rays coming from the right upper corner of the panel. I blended Blue Sketch and Faded Jeans to create the night sky part while the light areas are the rays coming from the star. I pounced pearl Perfect Pearl powder on the light areas. I later cut this using the second largest SSS rectangle die. It was too large for my intended lay-out, so I partially die-cut it to create a custom sized rectangle.
Looking through my Christmas paper packs, I am using Fancy Pants Timbergrove collection. Following the sketch, I created a panel using two different patterned papers. I taped it on the back before die cutting it using Simon Says Stamped Stitched Rectangles die. I used the biggest rectangle to cut this half & half panel.
I created a hill to ground the scene using a light brown cardstock and die cutting it with Avery Elle-ments Custom Panels die. I die cut to create some layers. I added stitching details to the outer corners of the ground using the SSS die. I embossed it with a We R Memory Keepers Tide embossing folder. I inked one with TH Ground Espresso, and inked the other with Vintage Photo.
For the upper half of the panel, I added stars. I die cut a Hobby Lobby vellum with spots of glitter using the SSS die. The spots were not enough to create a starry night sky. I can't find a star stamp in my stash that I like to use for this card. So, I used some silver Studio Calico star sequins and adhered it under the vellum for a muted look.
For the corner elements of the sketch, I stamped a sentiment on the same green patterned paper using an old Inkadinkado Christmas stamp. I heat embossed the sentiment using two different kinds of pearl powder from Wow!, a white and a silver. I didn't see any difference between the sentiment was heat embossed. Even if I did aim for a variation in colors between the star and the sentiment, I just kept it as is. I cut this in a triangular shape for the top right corner, sort of where the rays are coming from. For the bottom corner, I die cut the wood grain paper using a Paper Smooches Toppers Wise Die.
I added shimmer to the hay using clear Spectrum Noir. I added Novu Crystal drops to the stars and to the bottom corner embellishment.
Before I started adhering the elements to this collage card, I ran the edges of the base card on a Versamark ink pad. I applied Wow! Rich Pale Gold and heat embossed it.

Chalkboard Altered Digital Print
This is my first post as an Incy Wincy Design Team Member. I am excited and nervous at the same time. So I said to myself, take a deep breath, enjoy and create.
I put the Cricut Explore to the test with the Bugaboo Stamps digital image. After downloading it to the Cricut Design Space and a test run using a black Cricut marker, I tried drawing the image on black cardstock using a white Gelly Roll pen. I sized the image to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" to fit a card front. I colored the print out with color pencils. I lightly colored the background with white color pencil and slightly rub it off with a paper towel. I applied clear Wink of Stella to the flowers and used my stash of gel and metallic pens. I fuzzy cut the oval shape off the original lay-out. I inked the edges of this piece with white ink pad.
For the background, I dried embossed another black cardstock using a We R Memory Keepers Quilted Next Level Embossing Folder. I adhered the oval flower piece on this.
For the sentiment, I cropped a part of the Oddball Art sentiment digital image and also downloaded it to the Cricut Design Space. Using the same technique, I wrote the sentiment on black cardstock using a white Gelly Roll pen. If I can do this over again, I will resize the sentiment smaller so I can trim it to a one line sentiment strip. After adding details to the sentiments, I adhered this to the bottom of the panel. I stapled the edges to add a little bit detail. I adhered this panel to a white note card. To finish off the card, I applied random dots of Glossy Accents, sort of like an enamel dot.
I chose to create a sympathy card. I tend to have none at hand when I need a card with this theme. Now, I have one handy. I also plan to re-create this card using a white background with a black outline.
Thanks for viewing my blog. Hope you join us in the Incy Wincy Alter Something Challenge. Have a brilliant day!
