Easter Colored Inspired Greeting Card

Hello! Welcome back. Before I begin, I would like to thank Mindy of Creative Scoop for the color and technique inspiration. My colors are based on her Easter color combo. And, while I was reading her post, I came across her sparkle technique using a white gel pen which I tried on the girl's bunny hat. The effect is amazing! You should give it a try.

Anyway, we have another new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs for the month of April. We have 2 sponsors. The themes are Easter and/or Animals. I am using an image from one of our sponsors, Stampers Delights. 

I printed the image on a Hammermill 60lb sheet. I used Copic markers for coloring, adding details here and there. I fussy cut the image, leaving a small white border around it.

For the background, I am using patterned papers from Photo Play. To add detail to the checkered pattern, I stamped flowers to the white squares and adhered a small flower sequin to the center of each flower. I added lines to the dark pink squares using a white gel pen and a ruler. I traced the green lines with a pastel green gel pen. This checkered panel was cut at 4" x 5 1/4".

I die cut a green patterned paper using an egg die to create a hill to ground the image. I inked the edges with a green dye ink.

Before adhering the elements to the front panel, I heat embossed the sentiment. This sentiment is from Studio Katya. 

I adhered the hill to the checkered patterned paper. I added foam adhesives to the girl.

I added a sticker to the panel which is also from Photo Play.

I adhered this to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" top folding pink note card.

Inside Shadow Box Card Using Digital Stamps

Hello! It is time for a new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs. For this challenge, the theme is Dots +/Or Stripes +/Or Checks. I incorporated all of these in my card. 

My card is inspired by Jennifer McGuire's Inside Shadow Box Card. Her blog is my go to blog for inspiration. She explains her card process really well. I highly encourage you to check her blog out.

I am using images from one of our challenge sponsors. I printed the images on Neenah Solar White cardstock. I colored the images with Copic markers. I added details to the mermaid tails using Sakura pens. I used a white Gelli Roll pen on the green mermaid tail and an orange Souffle pen on the orange mermaid tail. I used a yellow Souffle pen on the star on the mermaid's hair. I accented the eyes using the white Gelli Roll pen. After the coloring, I fussy cut the images leaving a small white border around it.

Working on the shadow box, I am using a heavy weight Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. To follow the theme, I am using patterned papers from Doodlebug Kraft In Color 6x6 paper pad. I die cut the window using a Lawn Fawn Stitched Square die on the kraft cardstock. I die cut the next large square die on the pink diagonal striped patterned paper to have a matted window look. I did not like the look so I went ahead and used the square frame but instead of adhering it straight on, I rotated it. 

I heat embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder. The sentiment is from Ellen Hutson Totally Random Sayings Vol. 1 stamp set. 

For the back of the window, I chose a dotted patterned paper. I stamped bubbles on this paper using white pigment ink. Too subtle so I blended the white pigment ink on this paper using a stencil. I still am not convinced on its look, so I ended up adding Pretty Pink Posh confetti sequins to the background. 

I adhered the mermaids to the front of the window, adding a scrap cardstock to the inside window for support.

I closed the inside shadow box as instructed on the Jennifer's video.

For the front of the card, I adhered a checkered patterned paper to the front. I die cut the same pink striped patterned paper that I used on the inside using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die. I heat embossed the sentiment. The first line of the sentiment is a My Favorite Things stamp, and the bottom line is from a Lawn Fawn stamp which I masked since I only need that part of the sentiment. I added the dots using a white Sakura Gelli Roll pen. I added two layers of scrap paper underneath this sentiment panel, then adhered it to a kraft cardstock to matte it. I adhered this to the front panel. I decided to keep the front simple so the wow! would be reserved for the inside of the card.

Card Remake

Hello! We have a new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs. The challenge theme is Mother's Day And/Or Flowers. We have two sponsors for this challenge. 

I am remaking a card I made two years ago as seen above (https://ienjoywhatido.blogspot.com/2019/05/trifold-letter-shaped-card-using-cricut.html). I was cleaning my supplies when I came across the extra cut out letters I created for that card. I decided to card-lift my own creation and make use of these cut outs.

My first version of this card was flimsy. Luckily, I have extra cut outs. For this card, I layered two cut outs to make it sturdy. I had to trim a sliver off the letters and the heart, on the side of the fold line, so there will be no issue when folding this trifold card. 

Instead of ink blending, I adhered floral patterned papers from My Mind's Eye to the letters and the heart. I trimmed off the excess.

I printed the image on Neenah Solar White cardstock. I colored the image with Prismacolor colored pencils. My inspiration in coloring the image is a Japanese maid waitress. I fussy cut the image, leaving a small white border around it. 

Back to the trifold shaped card, I added flowers and leaves to the letters. These were die cut using a Paper Smooches die. I spritz the flowers with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide spray. I layered these flowers to add more dimension.

The sentiment is from Trinity Stamps So Appreciative Stamp set. I created a sentiment strip by heat embossing the sentiment on one of the patterned papers in the paper pad. I die cut this using an Avery Elle Simple Sentiments Elle-ments die. I blended a dark gray ink to this strip. I wipe off the excess ink from the embossed sentiment. I die cut two more pieces of a scrap cardstock using this sentiment strip die. I adhered these cardstock strips to the back of the sentiment strip.

I adhered the image to the heart using foam adhesive. I adhered the sentiment next. I added Pretty Pink Posh gems to the heart. 

Funny that I have the same sentiment, although from different stamp sets, for  both cards. I also adhered the image to the left of the heart on both cards. I only found out about this after I searched for my first card in my blog so I can post it here.
