Shrinky Dinks Family Bracelet

Hello! I cretaed this to join the latest challenge of A Blog Called Hero, the Hero Arts Challenge Blog. The challenge is on Anything But A Card and I created a bracelet with stamped charms.

I did this technique a long time ago, creating crystals for a Christmas card. I also created the crystals using Hero Arts stamps. I linked the post just in case you want to check it out (Shrinked Stamped Crystal Images). I had to read this old post of mine before I started this project, just to review myself on how to use the Shrinky Dink.

I stamped a circle on the Shrinky Dink using Stazon Cotton White Opaque Ink. The stamp is from Hero Arts Tape Your Message stamp set. I then stamped the letter on the center of the circle. The stamp is from HA Journal Letters stamp set. I colored the letter and the circle with Copic marker. I punched a hole at the top of the circle to create a hole to thread the wire later on when I put the bracelet together. I fussy cut this leaving a small border around the circle and the hole.

Now, it is time to shrink this. I used my heat gun and a stick to keep the Shrinky Dink from flipping back. You can see how small the image is in comparison photo below. Don't worry if the coloring is not perfect. It will not matter once it is shrunk as seen on the photo below. What is important is choosing a bold color that will show through the clear film.

I only have a few jewelry making accessories. The beads I am using are from an old bracelet that got broken. I used an elastic nylon cord to make the bracelet. I created my own eye pin to use on the Shrinky Dink charm using a stringing wire from my stash. The letters I chose for the bracelet represents the first letter of the names of each member of my family.

Color Inspired Card

Hello! I created this card for the latest My Favorite Things Color Challenge. I am using the MFT Party Patterns and Celebrate Life stamp sets which are both retired stamp sets.

I first created the background on Neenah White Solar card stock. I am using inks from Hero Arts (Soft Vanilla) and Simon Says Stamp (Audrey Blue and Doll Pink). I have to clean the stamps really well in between stamping especially when I am going to stamp with the HA Soft Vanilla. You have no idea how many times I contaminated this color. I also embossed some outline circles with Wow! Pearl Gold embossing powder for some accent.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed this on a dark pink paper with HA white embossing powder. I colored the sentiment using Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils.

I created a frame using the MFT LJD Rectangle Peek-A-Boo Window Die-namics. This die creates a window but I trimmed off the sides to make this into a frame. I also did partial die cutting to extend the length of the window so that the sentiment can fit inside the window. I used a white card stock for the frame.

I trimmed the stamped panel to 4" x 5 1/4". I matted this with the same dark pink paper cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I adhered the framed sentiment on the center with foam adhesive on the back.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a SAFE, blessed, brilliant and creative day!

Felt on Digital Image

Hello! We have a new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs. The challenge theme is on Footwear. Our challenge sponsor is SheepSki Designs. The image I am using is a scene image that I cropped to focus on the high heeled shoes the lady is wearing. She was laying on her belly with her feet up. After I cropped the shoes, I rotated the image to make the shoes upright. I printed the image on Canson water color paper. I also printed the image on scrap typing paper and fussy cut the shoes. I adhered this to the back of a blue felt with the right side adhered to the felt. I fussy cut the felt using the paper as a guide. I had to cut through the straps so I can get to the the small openings which I cannot cut off using a craft blade.

I colored the image with Karin markers. The regular colors is not as highly pigmented as the metallic ones. I acquired the metallic markers first. I figured out that I have to scribble on a pallet, then pick up the pigment with a brush to paint on an image. Coloring straight on the image makes you lose the details. It is hard to fix this despite the amount of water you put on the area. The regular markers, on the other hand, can be used to color the image. I used a water brush to distribute the color. I totally forgot the blender marker. Next time, I will try using it. Also, I will not advise using Canson water color paper with Karin. There was some degree of warping as I applied more pigment to the image. I will also try this marker on other water color paper brand.

Back to the project, I am using the same water color paper for the card base. I treated the area with an anit-static pouch. I stamped the front of the card with a My Favorite Things Rose All Over Background stamp. I used Delicata Golden Glitz pigment ink for stamping. I also used the Misti Stamping Tool which was really helpful in re-stamping this large stamp. I think I stamped this repeatedly about five times. I poured clear embossing powder to the area. I heat set this making sure the heat gun is nice and hot before zapping the stamped image.

I adhered the felt cut shoes to the image, lining the cut-out with the printed image. The shoes to the right was raised with Gina K. black adhesive foam. Despite the dimension, I felt I am not getting the right depth between the two shoes. To create this, I colored the shoe on the left with a Copic marker. Now, that made a difference but it was a big difference that it looks like it is not the same pair of shoes. So, I colored the shoe on the right with the next lighter blue shade of Copic marker. Much better! I ran this through a die cut machine to flatten the felt a little bit.

I created a frame for the image using a blue card stock. I adhered this to the image with foam tape. I cut off the excess.

I don't have a shoe related sentiment stamp in my stash. Looking through the web, I came across this sentiment. I don't feel like using my alphabet stamps for this so I used my typewriter and We R Memory Keepers blue typewriter ribbon. I first had to do a bit of practice before coming up with the final piece. I am using the same water color paper. I matted this on the same blue card stock which I die cut with an Avery Elle Custom Panels Elle-ments. I had to partially die cut this label to make it shorter, perfect for the sentiment strip.

I adhered the digital image, then the sentiment strip. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Gold gems to the ends of the sentiment strip. I punched the corners of the card with We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope to see you creations! Have a SAFE, blessed, brilliant and creative day!

Neon Colored Bears Birthday Card

Hello! I created a fun card. I made this to join Lawn Fawnatics latest blog challenge. After I saw the photo, all I can think of is the lively colors of the cupcakes.

I stamped the bear from Lawn Fawn Party Animal stamp set on Arches water color paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I colored the bears using Karin Neon Brushmarkers, following the colors of the cupcake icing. I stamped the party hats from the same stamp set following the colors of the cupcake wrappers. I brushed these party hats with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Glitter brush pen. I fussy cut these stamped images leaving a white border around the image.

For the pennants, I partially die cut the ends of the longest banner die in the LF Fancy Folded Banners die set to create small pennants. I die cut different colored card stocks and white card stock from my paper stash following the colors of the birthday candles. I used the negative cut created by the banner end as a placement guide for stamping the individual letters to create the sentiment. To do this, I added a full adhesive Post It tape to the back of the negative die cut. I nestled the banner in the open area, positioned the letter on the banner die cut. I used the Misti Stamping Tool so I can double stamp each letter for embossing. I stamped the letters using Hero Arts Unicorn White pigment ink and HA white embossing powder. The letters are from the LF Milo's ABCs stamp set.

After I have completed embossing the letters, I cut each pennant to an inch and scored the top 1/8". I folded the pennant on this scored line and adhered this to a twine. I adhered the white pennant die cut to the back of the colored pennant.

For the background, I trimmed two blue colored card stocks to 8 7/8" x 3 7/8" to create a slim card for an A9 sized envelope. I also cut a patterned paper using the same measurement. I partially die cut the patterned paper using the LF Outside In Stitched Rectangle to be able to create a longer framer.

I embossed the LF Fancy Lattice Background die on the darker blue card stock. I also did partially embossing on this card stock so I can embossed the whole slim sized card stock.

I created a confetti background on the light blue card stock using some of the small stamps on the LF Animal Party stamp set. I embossed these stamps using Wow! White Pearl embossing powder.

To put the scene together, I adhered the lattice embossed card stock to the bottom of the confetti background panel. I cut off the excess. I positioned the bears next. I adhered the banner using foam adhesive. I glued the excess twine to the card stock panel. I adhered the party hats with foam adhesive. I adhered the scalloped patterned paper next. I added Ranger Glossy Accents to the party hats and set this aside to dry.

Thank you for visiting my blog. It seems like a lot of work done for this card but I truly enjoyed putting this scene together. Have a SAFE, blessed, brilliant and creative day!

Bottle Cap Shaker Card

Hello! I created this card using Pebbles This Is Family Collection. I created several projects using this collection which you can check out by clicking the linked titles of the projects (Home Themed CardSketch Inspired Scrapbook Lay Out, and See Through Shaker Birthday Present Card).

What motivated me to create this card is the people faces included in this line, specifically the washi tape. I have used all of the washi tape included in the pack except this people face washi tape. I transformed this washi tape into an embellishment. Do you remember the Bottle Cap embellishment? Yes, I still have my puncher and clear bubble caps. The caps are not crystal clear anymore, unfotunately. Now, it has a yellowish tint. The adhesive under the cap rolls or peels off. This can easily be fixed by applying Glossy Accents to the washi tape before applying the cap. I should have done this to all of the washi tape bubble caps. One cap came loose after several shaking of this shaker card which you will see on the picture below.

I trimmed one of the patterned papers in the collection at 4" x 5 1/4". I cut a hole to create a window. I used one of the ephemera acetates to seal the shaker card. I applied a thin line of Glossy Accents to the back of the clear ephemera, just following the line created by the frame. I wiped off any excess that seeped out of the acetate. I set this aside to dry.

I am using another ephemera as the center piece of the shaker card. I colored the flower with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen which oozed a lot of ink when I removed the cap. Bad news is that it created red droplets on my center ephemera piece. I did not want to toss this ephemera so I covered this boo-boo with some gems.

I colored the flower with the sparkle pen, adding some accents. I also colored the leaf with a green sparkle pen, which I am glad that it did not create a mess like the red one. I drew in dash lines on the sentiment.

This circle ephemera is slightly smaller than the circle window. I adhered this on a black card stock to make this gap less noticeable. I used Gina K. black foam tape that I doubled up and adhered on this black card stock to create the well and the dimension for the rest of the window panel. I added the bottle cap and some Pretty Pink Posh gems to the well, then placed the window panel to seal the shaker card.

I added colors to the clear acetate with Sakura Souffle 3D Paint pens. I added more gems to the front.

Pastel Rainbow Message Board Card

Hello! I created this card with the front liners and first responders in mind. I am in healthcare, too, but I don't do bedside care anymore. I do work with these front liners very closely in the units that we monitor. Seeing the circumstances right now, they are in a very difficult position to be on.

I am using the SugarPea Designs Message Letter Board die. I have used this die for several projects already. I am linking it here, in case you are interested to check it out (Vinyl on Greeting CardTeacher Inspired Letter Board Card, and Letter Board Birthday Card). I embossed the die on a Neenah Solar White cardstock. I ink blended the panel using the lines as guide. I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Sugar Spun, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron and Tumbled Glass. I chose these colors to match the colors of the challenge. I masked the areas that I was not blending ink on.

I die cut my sentiment using the letter die included in the SPD Message Letter Board die set. I adhered these letters close to the bottom of the message board.

I stamped the image from the retired SPD This Little Piggy stamp set on Strathmore Water color paper using Versafine Onxy Black ink. I colored the image with Karina markers. I have used these markers on Canson water color paper in which this paper had some warping. The Strathmore brand worked well with these markers. I also tried the blender pen in this project. I did not see any blending. It was the water brush that made the pigment blend. I will try this blender pen with the Karin marker on a different paper.

Back to the project, I fussy cut the image leaving a white border around it. I partially stamped the angel pig image on a heavy weight Clearprint Vellum using Versamark ink. I made sure I got a good impression of the wings. I embossed the wings with Wow! Midas Touch embossing powder. I fussy cut the wings leaving a small border on the outer border of the wings. I cut the wings next to the embossed lines where the wings meet the pig's body.

I die cut some clouds on Grafix Platinum Vellum. I used a sticker maker to add adhesive to these clouds and to the wings. I adhered the wings to the pig. I colored the wings and the letters with Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss. I adhered the clouds to the letter board panel. I applied an action mini wobble spring to the back of the pig. I adhered this to the letter board panel.

I created a frame for the letter board panel using a white card stock. I adhered this to a top folding white A2 note card.

Here is a short video showing the wobbler in action.

Floating Image Birthday Card

Hello! I created this card to participate in Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge. After seeing the colors for this challenge, all I can think of are unicorns and mermaids. Good thing, I have this stamp in my stash!

I stamped the image from Newton's Nook Purr-maid Newton stamp set on Canson water color paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I colored the image with Gansai Tambi water color, mixing colors on a palette to make the color more pastel. My inspiration in coloring this cat is my sister's black kitten, Pikit, which means eyes closed in Filipino. Very appropriate, I can say, since the image has its eyes closed, too. I fussy cut the image, leaving a white border around it.

Working on the front panel, I embossed a 110 lb. white card stock with an embossing folder. I wanted the raised impression to resist the ink blending that I will be doing. To do this, I first treated the panel with an anti-static pouch. I traced the lines with a glue pen. I poured Wow! White Pearl embossing powder to the area. I heat set this after. I did these steps about three times. I did not want the glue to dry out and not have the embossing powder stick to it. I also made sure the heat gun was heated enough before zapping the powder, moving the heat gun so it does not melt the area with the already melted powder.

I die cut an oval window at the center using Hero Arts Nesting Die. I also created a frame on a white card stock. I taped a transparent thread to the back of the mermaid cat. I adhered the ends of the thread to the back of the window panel. I adhered this in a way that it will be able to shake enough inside the oval window. I adhered this window panel to a yellow Lawn Fawn Rainbow Scallops 6x6 patterned paper with foam tape.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed the sentiment from Newton's Nook Newton Loves Cake stamp set on a pink card stock. I used Versafine Onxy Black ink for the ink and clear embossing powder. I trimmed this to a rectangle and adhered it to the bottom of the window. I added some Pretty Pink Posh gems for some bling.

I created a short video to show how this floating image shakes.
