Create Your Own Shaker Elements With Stamped Image And Die Cuts

Hello! I am so happy to know that Mama Elephant has challenges now using Discord as its platform. I love their products. 

I started off by ink smooshing a Strathmore Bristol paper with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide. I die cut this panel using the ME Peek A Frame Creative Cuts. I used the stitched rectangle die and the stamped edged die to create a frame. I heat embossed the happy sentiment on the inked panel using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I heat embossed this sentiment on acetate as well using white embossing powder. I slightly offset the word happy to create a shadow for the acetate impression. Once I had this in position, I stamped the supplement sentiments on both the acetate and the inked panel. I used the Misti to keep these sentiments aligned. I used the same black ink on the inked panel. I used Stazon White ink on the acetate. The sentiment is from ME Happy Everything stamp set.

I adhered the acetate to the back of the frame using the inked panel as guide and making sure the small font sentiments are aligned. I trimmed off the excess acetate. I added double layered foam adhesive to the back of the frame. 

I adhered the inked panel to a white wide top folding note card. I used the acetate panel as a guide for placement.

Working on the shaker element, I stamped the envelope on Strathmore watercolor paper. I colored it with a wash of blue watercolor marker.  I colored the heart of the envelope with a red Spectrum Noir  Sparkle Glitter brush pen. I fussy cut the image. The envelope is from the ME Panda stamp set.

I added heart and sequin die cuts which was cut using the ME Confetti Creative Cuts. 

I rubbed my powder tool on the inked panel and on the back of the acetate. I positioned the shakers on the center of the inked panel. I adhered the acetate panel. 

I stamped the panda on white cardstock. I added black flock to the ears, arms and legs of the panda. Once this has dried, I added Ranger White Enamel Accents to the eyes. I added blush to the cheeks of the panda using a watercolor marker. I adhered the pandas to the front of the acetate panel.

Felt, Flock and Another Use for Border Die

Hello! I created this card to join in Pinkfresh Studio's Card Sketch Challenge in Facebook. I am using my all time favorite Pinkfresh Studio Magical Unicorn stamp and die sets.

To accommodate the design, I created a larger card, a 5"x7" card. To create the card base, I cut a heavy weight card stock, one at 5"x7", and one at 5"x7 1/4". The latter is longer so I can create a hinge to adhere these two cuts together and create a top folding note card. I scored this at 1/4" to create the hinge.

I cut two more pieces of card stock, a white and a gray, both at 4 1/2" x 6 1/2".

Using the Hero Arts Oval Nesting die, I die cut two different sized ovals at the center, to create a stacked look. I traced the smallest oval window on the white card stock that I will be using as card front. This will guide me with stamping and arranging the elements of the card.

I created the horn by die cutting it on a white card stock. Keeping the negative cut, I applied a piece of non-tack tape on the back of this negative cut and pieced in the horn. I set this on the Misti Stamping Tool. I positioned the stamp on the horn die cut, picked it up with the Misti, and inked it with a yellow die ink followed with Tsukineko The Essential Glue Pad. I poured Ranger Sticky Embossing Powder to it and heat set it. I sprinkled Inkadinkado Canary Flocking Powder to this. After I tapped the excess off, I covered this with a wax paper and burnished the flocking powder to the horn with a scraper.

I die cut the flowers and leaves using felt. I stamped the flower and leaf details on the felt using the same piecing in technique as above. I used a yellow pigment ink for the detail on the white flower, and I used Tim Holtz Distress oxide inks on the yellow flowers and leaves.

I die cut the ears on white card stock, die cutting 6 pieces of the ears. I stacked and adhered 3 of the ears on top of each other. I pounced the glue pad on the ears, poured sticky embossing powder on it, and heat set it. This time, I am using a white Deco Foil Flock Transfer sheet. I placed a piece of it on top of the ear die cut, with the fussy side facing the stick embossing powder. I placed a piece of paper on top and burnish it.

For the eyes, what helped me in positioning the eyes for stamping is the printed plastic film that comes with the stamp set. I positioned this film on the area where I want the eyes to be, placed the eyelashes stamp on top of it, then picked this up with the Misti. I did the same flocking technique as I did with the horn, only this time, I used a Martha Stewart black flocking powder.

The sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio My Favorite Things To Say stamp set. I stamped this on a vellum with Versamark ink. I embossed this with Hero Arts Silver embossing powder. I doubled the vellum by running an extra vellum through the Xyron Sticker Maker. After I adhered the vellum layers together, I die cut this into a sentiment strip using Avery Elle Elle-ments Simple Sentiments die.

I die cut the Pinkfresh Studio Lacy Floral Border die on vellum. I die cut this 4 times. I run this through the Xyron Sticker Maker. I adhered this to the gray window panel. I cut off the excess keeping the extras and adhering it to any open space. I reinforced any areas that did not adhere with liquid glue that I placed on a spatula, sliding the spatula underneath the intricate die cut. I placed something heavy on top of this while the glue dries.

Putting the card together, I erased my oval pencil mark on the front card base. I adhered the white window panel on top of this. I adhered the vellum sentiment strip next, sliding the edges underneath the white oval window piece. I adhered the gray window panel, the horn, the ears, flowers and leaves. Instead of a glue gun, I used the Ranger Glossy Accents to adhere the felt. I am so glad it worked.

To fill in the gap between the eyes and the sentiment strip, I added cheeks on the unicorn. I created a circle stencil then ink blended Tim Holtz Tattered Rose Distress ink on the open area.

I adhered Pretty Pink Posh Buttercream jewels on the flower centers.

I applied a double adhesive tape to the hinge. I adhered the other white card stock panel to this hinge making sure everything is aligned.

Fall Themed Background Using the We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill

Hello! We have a new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs Challenge Blog. The challenge theme is Autumn (Fall) Colours. Very timely, right! After having a hot October start, we are finally starting to have cool temperatures here in St. Louis. It is about time, I should say. I am using an image from one of our sponsors, Elsa image no. 184. I printed the image on kraft cardstock and colored the image using Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils. I added hightlights to the eyes and whiskers using gel pens. I fussy cut the image, leaving a small border around it. I ended up adhering this image on white cardstock, then fussy cutting it leaving a thin white border around the image to make the image pop out against the busy background.

For the background, I used the Cricut Design Space to edit the leaf images called Fall Leaves. This is a print, score and cut image. I edited it to draw so I can use the We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill. I cut the foil to the size I need. I taped this over the area of the cardstock where I want the leaves to be drawn.

Removing the foil off the cardstock is like removing a mask after ink blending. The reveal of the outcome is amazing!

Working on the sentiment, I adhered a double sided adhesive tape over a yellow cardstock. I die cut the Lawn Fawn Scripty Thanks on this but with the adhesive part on top. I removed the release paper and poured Inkadinkado Yellow Flocking Powder. I covered this with a parchment paper so I can burnish the flocking powder to the adhesive. The word sending is from Lawn Fawn Love Letters stamp set. I stamped it using a Altenew Paper Bag dye ink and stamped it on a yellow cardstock strip. 

 To create a scene for the fox, I stamped the tree stump on white colored cardstock using a brown dye ink. I fussy cut this stamped image and colored the the top area with a Copic marker. This tree stump is from LF Mom + Me stamp set. I die cut an orange felt heart using the heart die from LF Happy Mail die set. I adhered this to the center of the tree stump.

I trimmed the foiled panel making it into a 5 1/4" x 4" panel. I adhered this to a 5 1/4" x 4 1/4" kraft cardstock. I then adhered the images and the sentiments. I ahdered this to a top folding wide A2 white notecard.

Flocked Stamped Sentiment

Do you remember that time when flocking was all rage? Messy work but the fuzzy dimension is eye-catching. I am featuring the flocking powder in this project.

I embossed the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles onto the front of a top folding 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white note card. I used an embossing mat to achieve this look. The mat prevents the metal die from cutting the cardstock. Using Tab 2 in the die platform, I applied the embossing mat, a cardboard for extra shim, and the cardstock with die sandwiched between the two plates. I adhered the die with washi tape to prevent it from shifting when I run it through the Sizzix Machine. I was only able to use the two largest rectangles of the SSS die for this card.

I prepared the middle panel for embossing. I positioned the stamp on the Misti Stamping Tool. I first tried using the Ranger Sticky Embossing Powder to attract and adhere the flocking powder. I was not quite happy with the results so I resorted to the Tsukineko Essential Glue Pad. The results with flocking are better using this.

I adhered a very thin strip of double sided tape along the scored lines, avoiding the stitched impressions. I poured Elizabeth Crafts Warm Diamond to these strips and burnished the glitter using my finger. To make this pop, I drew a line around the rectangles using a Copic Marker.
I also added Doodlebug sequins.

To burnish the flocking powder, I covered the flocked sentiment with Swiffer cloth and used a bone folder to apply pressure to the flocked area. When I lifted off the Swiffer, it also picked up the extra stray flocking powder that I was having a hard time brushing off.
