Slim Card Stitched Holiday Card

Hello! I created this card to try out for the Scrapbook & Cards 2020 Winter Wonderland Call. I created this card based on the sketch below.

I started off by die cutting a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" green cardstock with Paper Smooches Cross Stitch die. I stitched a snowflake on this using a pattern from My Favorite Things. I am using a DMC E747 which is a light pearlescent blue embroidery floss.

I trimmed a Pebbles patterned paper at 3 1/3" x 6 1/2" to create the bottom portion of the card sketch. I actually got my color inspiration for this card from this patterned paper. Using a circle die from MFT, I die cut the half circle on this patterned paper as seen on the sketch.

To create the sentiment portion of my card based on the sketch, I die cut another green cardstock using the PS Cross Stitch die. I filled 5 rows with cross stitch using DMC E5200 which is a white pearlescent embroidery floss. I heat emboss the sentiment on a vellum using Wow! Blue Topaz embossing powder first. I re-stamped the sentiment with the help of the Misti Stamping Tool then heat set this using Wow! White Pearl embossing powder this time. I trimmed this to a strip and adhered it on top of the white cross stitched panel. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Crystals stamp set.

I adhered the snowflake panel to the back of the patterned paper, centering the snowflake on the notch I created with the circle die. I trimmed off the bottom of the slim patterned paper to create a gap where  where I adhered the sentiment strip. I adhered the other half of this patterned paper to the sentiment strip.

I created a card base using a light blue heavy weight cardstock. I adhered the panel to this. I added Pretty Pink Posh Aquamarine Jewels. Even the patterned paper has some shimmer which complements the thread and the jewels. Too bad it was not captured in the photo.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
