Hello! I am back with another New Craft Stash post. In this post, I am using three new products all at one time. I am featuring Trinity Stamps 3x4 Folded Hug Stamp, TS Sending Hugs Die Set and Wow! Jealous Guy embossing powder.
The sketch I am using on this card is inspired by the latest My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge.
I created a chevron background by stamping a Lawn Fawn Chevron Backdrops repeatedly on a green cardstock using Versamark ink. I heat emboss this with the Wow! Jealous Guy embossing powder. I used a powder tool to prevent stray embossing powder from sticking to places that I don't want it to. I am also using the Misti Stamping Tool so I can align the zigzag patterns and also be able to re-stamp if I need to.
I stamped the Trinity Stamps 3x4 Folded Hug Stamp on a light blue cardstock. The stamp came with corner designs that I masked off since I am going for a masculine card. I selectively inked the sentiment stamp, trying to avoid the bold hug sentiment since I will be covering this later. I pour white embossing powder to the stamped sentiment then heat embossed it. I made this into a fish tailed banner by die cutting the tip using a die from the Avery Elle A Tag For All Elle-ments set. I trimmed some off the side edges. I added stitched lines to the fish tail and top edges of the banner using a die from Lawn Fawn Stitched Border die set.
I die cut the word hug from the TS Sending Hugs Die Set on the same blue cardstock. I pounced the Versamark ink pad on the top half of the letters. I poured Wow! Silver Pearl Embossing powder to this inked area then heat set it. For the bottom half, instead of Versamark ink, I used the Wow! Mixed Media Embossing Brush. I poured Wow! Midas Touch embossing powder to this area. This embossing powder has some big chunks of glitter so I figured the mixed media will work better on this powder. I heated my tool first before zapping the powder, starting on the back of the letter. Once I saw the powder melting, I moved my heat tool to the front of the letter.
To complete the sketch, I adhered some striped washi tape on a white cardstock strip. I trimmed it to create varying widths of strips. Adhering the washi tape to a cardstock makes the washi tape less transparent so its design will pop out on an already busy background.
I adhered the strips to the chevron background panel. I adhered the banner next, adding foam tape more towards the fish tail edge.
