Technique Inspired Greeting Card

Hello! I created this card to participate in Hero Arts Stay Crafty Challenge Creativebug Inspiration. There are lots of techniques taught in this class showcasing Hero Arts products but you can easily substitute this with items you already have. And best of all, this class is free! The technique that I chose is Using stencils with reactive ink and water. I don't have a lot of Hero Arts Reactive Ink. In fact, I only have one, the Sea Salt. I am using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks instead.

On a 6" x 5 1/2" Bristol paper, I blended several inks in this order, Cracked Pistachio, Abandoned Coral, Wilted Violet, Worn Lipstick, Lucky Clover, Peeled Paint and Faded Jeans.

I sprayed some iCraft Pixie Spray on the Hero Arts Zigzag Pattern Stencil and placed it on top of the blended panel. On an empty box, I sprayed the stenciled panel with pearlized water. I gave this a good spritz but not too much that the water will seep underneath the stencil. Before lifting up the stencil, I patted this dry with a paper towel.

I die cut this panel using a stitched rectangle die from Mama Elephant Peek A Frame Creative Cuts.

For the sentiment, I am using the Hero Arts Hello Stamp and Cut. I heat embossed the sentiment on a black strip of cardstock using Hero Arts white embossing powder. I die cut the hello on black cardstock. I applied Zig Wink of Stella clear brush to this die cut. I adhered this to a vellum and cut around the sentiment die cut leaving a border around it. What is so great about doing this technique of creating a sentiment outline using vellum is that once you are done on one end of the sentiment, you can flip the vellum with the wrong side up to cut around the rest of the sentiment without the risk of over cutting.

I adhered this to the colored panel. I added some clear drops for some added interest.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
