Hello! Welcome back to my blog. It brings me joy when I am able to participate in blog challenges. I used to do this a lot but was held back due to DT responsibilities. Not that I do not like being a DT member. This actually keeps me going with my creativity. I just feel good that I was able to meet my DT deadlines giving me some spare time to play with my other craft supplies.
The products I used is from Altenew. The floral cluster is from the Altenew Craft Your Life Project Kit: Watercolor Flowers which I won from A Cherry on Top during their March is National Craft Month giveaway.
It took me three tries before I came up with this final card. I really want to create a card with the Z-fold card design using this large floral cluster. I am glad that I did not give up. As they say, third is a charm.
On my first try, I did not tape the die to the cardstock. The die shifted when I partially die cut it making the cut not in the right place.
On my second try, I actually finished the card. I embossed the floral cluster on the card front and stenciled in the colors. The background was too plain and too white. I stamped the floral cluster on the background using the Altenew Morning Frost Fresh Dye ink filling up most of the white space. Well, I did not like how it look. The color was too bold and the background was too busy that I felt the colored floral cluster, which is the focal point, got lost.
On my third try, I did another boo-boo. I partially die cut the floral cluster without considering if this will fit in the embossing folder with the design matching the partial die cut. Well, it did not fit. Instead of repeating the process and wasting more craft supplies, I die cut the colored floral cluster on my second card and used it on this card.
To create the Z-Fold, on a side folding 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" note card, mark the front of the card at 2 1/8" using a pencil. You don't have to do partial die cutting if you don't want to. You can just adhere the floral cluster die cut on the flap. But if you are going to do partial die cutting like I did, put the die at the inside portion of the card front. The part that will be partially die cut is the one close to the fold coming from the 2 1/8" mark. This is where you will line up the cutting plate leaving the other half bare.
This will cut the opening as seen above. Score at the 2 1/8", where the marks are, above and below the cuts. Erase the pencil marks. Gently fold at the score line. The partial die cut should be the fold that gets hidden with the uncut side as the card gets folded into a Z.
Before adhering the stenciled floral cluster, I partially embossed the front flap with the Altenew Organic Linen 3D embossing folder. Then I adhered the floral cluster making sure it is aligned with the partially die cut cluster on the front flap.
For the inner portion of the card that shows behind the floral cluster, I embossed a heavy weight vellum with the Altenew Raised Sentiments Embossing Folder. I trimmed this vellum into 4 1/8" x 5 1/2". I adhered this to the inner right side of the notecard.
You can write your personal note on the open space on the left side of the embossed vellum which you can see on the second and third photos above.
For the sentiment, I treated the same vellum with an anti-static tool. I stamped a sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I poured clear embossing powder and heat set this. I die cut the sentiment using the coordinating die. The stamp is from the stamp set included in the kit.
I added jewels to the flower centers. I rounded the top and bottom corners of the folded side for a bit of interest.

Hello! Welcome back to my blog. Today's card features the Kat Scrappiness Easter Quokkas stamp and die sets. I hope you like it.
One of the sources of my inspiration is the stamp set itself. Looking at the KS Easter Quokkas stamp set, I could not help but notice one of the sentiments with what better timing. It does not only pertain to Easter but it also pertains to the cost of eggs.
I looked at my stash and found this pretty Easter patterned paper which inspired me with the colors of the card.
I colored the quokka with Copic markers. I die cut the quokka using the coordinating die. I die cut two more pieces on white cardstock to add dimension to the colored quokka.
To make this into a trifold card, I cut a 8 1/2" x 11" carstock at 5 1/2" on the long side to come up with 2 note cards. I scored both pieces at 4 1/4" on the long side. On one of the notecards, I partially die cut the front with an oval die from the KS Never Ending Oval Craft dies. Partial die cutting is when you leave a part of the die hanging off the cutting plates sandwich. Any part of the die and paper that are not in between the cutting plates sandwich will not be cut. In the case of my card, I left a part of the oval die hanging on the folded side of the note card. Doing such created an oval cut on the front of the card. But the cut is not complete yet. I used a trimmer to cut off the negative cut created by the oval die on the the scored line. You can also use a craft knife for this purpose.
I die cut a smaller oval on a teal colored cardstock. I ran this die cut inside an embossing folder to add wave impressions just like one of the eggs on the patterned paper. To add some color variation to this teal die cut, I lightly rubbed a white dye ink over the raised edges.
For the sentiment, I die cut a speech bubble on a yellow cardstock. I stamped the sentiment on this die cut.
I adhered the teal die cut on the oval flap of the note card. I adhered the speech bubble on an extra speech bubble die cut. I adhered the speech bubble slightly beyond the margin of the oval flap. I sneaked another speech bubble die cut in between the red flap and teal oval die cut to which I adhered the yellow speech bubble die cut. This adds some stability to this hanging embellishment.
I adhered the quokka to this flap.
For the other notecard, I adhered the patterned paper cut at 4" x 5 1/4" to the front making sure the fold is on the right side of the patterned paper. I trimmed a sliver off the edge of the oval notecard. I applied glue to the inside of the patterned paper note card and adhered this to the back of the oval flap note card.
I die cut a white cardstock using a die from the KS Stiched Rectangle craft dies. I adhered this to the inside of the trifold notecard. This will be a place to stamp a sentiment and to write a message to the recipient.

Hello! Welcome back to my blog. Today's card was inspired by a photo of tulips cake and cupcakes. I used Kat Scrappiness dies on this card. At the end of the post is the list and links to the to the products I used in case you are interested to check it out.
I worked on the tiered cake first. The KS Build a Cake Craft dies create cake layers that is not the height of the cake tier that I want mine to be. To make the cake tier taller, I partially die cut a cake layer on navy blue cardstock. I partially die cut the bottom portion first then I moved the die towards the top of the cardstock which was cut to my desired tier height. The middle portion was not cut. I just used a pair of scissors to complete the cut, thus, creating a taller cake tier.
I die cut a matte gold cardstock for the bottom portion of the cake.
I adhered these layers on a scrap piece of cardstock to create a single piece of embellishment. I cut off any excess being careful not to cut any part of the cake.
I die cut the flowers from the KS Layered Tulip Bouquet craft dies on different shades of pink cardstock. I die cut the stems and leaves on green cardstock. I adhered the center layer of the tulip over the base tulip. I only applied a line of glue on the center so I can zhush this center layer later on.
I planned the lay out of the flowers on the cake. I adhered the flowers to the stems. I did a lot of die cut surgery during this portion of the project. I want to have an even distribution of the flowers and leaves on the cake. I adhered the tulips to the cake and snipped off the excess stems/leaves.
I added dots to the cake using white enamel glue for some added pop. I added dots of glittered glue to the trim of each cake tier. I set this aside to dry.
I worked on the bow next. I die cut three bows on a blue cardstock. The bow die is from the KS Layered Tulip Bouquet craft dies. I snipped off the bow tails on two of the bows. I adhered the three bows by adding a dot of glue on the center of the bow. I shifted the bows so that it will add layers to the single bow. I added white dots to this bow using a white gel pen. I adhered this bow to the top of the cake. I adhered a navy blue sequin then topped it with a glass bauble.
For the easel panel, I die cut a white cardstock with the KS Buffalo Plaid Background craft die. I die cut three pieces of it. Luckily, the negative cuts did not drop off on one of the die cuts. I set this piece aside. This will be used as a stopper to hold the easel up.
I trimmed a piece of vellum at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I adhered this to the back of one of the plaid background die cuts. I adhered the other die cut to the back of the vellum, making sure the plaid pattern is aligned. I adhered the cake on this panel.
I trimmed a heavy weight white cardstock at 4 1/4" x 11". I scored this at 5 1/2" on the long side to create a top folding card.
I trimmed the third plaid panel shorter, leaving three rows of the pattern only. I took note of the pattern on the bottom portion of the plaid panel so that the cut out will make the plaid design continuous. I used this trimmed plaid die cut as a guide on where to score the front of top folding card. I used a pencil and lightly mark that area, then scored it using a scoring tool.
I adhered the trimmed plaid panel to the inside bottom portion of the card. I pieced in the square negative cuts to create a flat panel.
For the sentiment, I die cut the KS Happy Birthday Shadow Sentiment craft die on a navy blue cardstock. I adhered this to the inside of the card, on top of the trimmed plaid die cut.
I adhered the plaid panel to the front of the card, applying glue to the bottom fold only.
