Hello! I got motivated to create this project from the Lawn Fawnatics current blog challenge, which is on 3D Cards. I created a floral version of this pop-up card before which helped me put this project together. Check it out when you get the chance (Pop-Up Vase Card).
For this project, I am using the following Lawn Fawn products:
- Stitched Christmas Tree Frames-for the tree and the star
- Small Stitched Square Stackables-for the tree stand
- Mini Wreath-for the ornament
- Fancy Folded Banners
- Offset Sayings: Christmas
- Knit Picky 6x6" Petite Paper Pad
I die cut 5 pieces of the smallest tree frame on green cardstock. I adhered this to a green patterned paper. I trimmed off the excess. I inked the edges with green dye ink. I scored the tree at the middle. I added a strong double sided adhesive on one side of the back of the tree. I adhered one tree to the other but not closing up the last tree folds so I can work on the star and the tree stand.
I die cut two stars for each tree. I sandwiched a toothpick in between two stars using double sided adhesive and foam tape. I adhered the toothpick at the center of the folded tree.
The tree stand is made of folded cardstock strip adhered to each other. I adhered this to the center of the folded tree, next to the toothpick, making sure it extends below the tree. I adhere the tree folds together to hide the toothpick and the tree stand.
The box is made up of small square die cuts on brown cardstock. I connected the squares by creating a hinge using scrap cardstock.
I created a holding tab for the tree stand with a 2" strip of scrap cardstock. I scored this at 1/2" and 1 1/2" since the square die is 2". I folded the scored lines. I added liquid adhesive to the tabs and adhered this to the inside of the box. I added glue to the tree stand and adhered it to the holding tab.
I die cut the tiny circle ornaments on glitter and mirror cardstocks. I adhered this to the tree.
For the sentiment, I die cut a cream cardstock with the banner die. I stamped the sentiment to this banner. I adhered the ends of the banner to the box.
This mini pop-up Christmas tree can be folded and placed inside an envelope preferably for personal delivery. I am not sure if it will hold up when mailed unless placed inside a padded envelope.
Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
