Create A Background With Die Cuts

Hello! We have a new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs. The challenge theme is For A Baby Or Use Balloons Or Sweets. I am using one of the two sponsors for this challenge.

I printed the image on Hammermill Color Copy Digital Cover. I am trying out this paper for the first time. It is not as thick as Neenah but it is relatively close to Neenah when it comes to coloring with Copic. At first, I was afraid that the paper won't stand up to the amount of alcohol ink I am using specifically on the background. Well, it did.

For the background, I die cut several balloons using a paper weight blue patterned paper. The balloon die is from Sugar Pea Designs. I blended Tim Holtz Broken China Distress Ink on one side of the balloon to create some shadowing. I arranged the balloons on a white 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" cardstock panel. To keep the balloon arrangement intact, I lifted the balloons with Glad Press N' Seal. I added liquid glue to the back of each balloons. I placed the white cardstock panel on top of these balloons, pressing it to adhere the balloons to the white cardstock panel. I carefully flipped this over and gently removed the Glad Press N' Seal. I set this aside to dry. Once dry, I trimmed off the excess. I drew in the balloon strings using a Sakura Stardust Gel Pen.

Back to the colored image, I die cut this using a square scalloped die from Concord & 9th. I die cut a white cardstock using a square stitched die from Lawn Fawn. I adhered the scalloped die cut to the stitched square die cut.

I heat embossed the sentiment on the colored panel using white embossing powder. I adhered this balloon panel.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope to see your creations at the challenge blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
