Hello! I created this card to join in Mama Elephant's monthly challenge in Discord. The challenge theme is Tell Me A Story. The inspiration behind this card is the current progress the nation has on COVID. With a majority of the nation vaccinated, restrictions are eased out. We can finally get together with family and friends especially if they are vaccinated. I still have one wish though and that this privilege will be enjoyed by the rest of the world. My parents are at the Philippines. It will be really nice to be able to visit them again. But I am patiently waiting as the Philippine citizens get vaccinated.
I am at luck that there are five children in the Mama Elephant In My Heart Stamp set so I can have each kid paired with each letter on the word 'HAPPY'. I stamped each child on watercolor paper and colored it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush. I fussy cut the images leaving a thin white border around it.
For the letters, I used the ME InLine Letters stamp set. I heat embossed this on watercolor paper, using white embossing powder. I pounced different colored Tim Holtz Distress Oxide on the mat and spritz this with water. I spritz the watercolor paper with water, then smooshed this to the pigment on the mat. I dried this with a heat gun. I repeated this process if I think I need more color for the background. I die cut this into a circle using a circle die.
For the card base, I trimmed a heavy weight cream cardstock at 8 1/2" x 7", scored it at 3" on the short side to create a slimline card. I trimmed a cardstock with floral embossing detail at 8 1/2" x 1" for the ground. I stamped the background using the dotted stamp from ME Boutique Borders. I used Hero Arts Soft Vanilla for ink.
I adhered the green cardstock trim to the edge of the card front. I heat embossed the sentiment from ME Happy Everything stamp set. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink and a clear embossing powder. Next, I adhered the letter circles. I adhered the children using foam tape. I rounded the corners with We R Memory Keepers 1/8 corner punch. I added glitter pen details to the in line letters for extra accent although this can hardly be noticed on the photo.
Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day! I hope you are all happy together with people you have not been with for a long time.
