Face Mask Shaped Card

Hello! I created this timely card to participate in Honey Bee's Happy Mail Challenge in Facebook. I had this design idea since Easter but did not get around creating it until now.

I am using the Honey Bee Double Stitched Polygons Honey Cuts. I die cut an Authentique 6x6 floral patterned paper. I created a side folding card base using a heavy weight white card stock. I strategically placed the cutting line above the side fold so it will not cut through this part and only cut the other sides of the polygon. The polygon's height is about 4 1/2" so this card is a little larger than an A2 sized card.

I blended Tim Holtz Peacock Feather Distress ink on the edges of the patterned paper.

I created the tie masks using a Doodlebug washi tape. I doubled the washi tape, with the sticky part facing each other to seal it. I left an inch on the edge of uncovered adhesive so I can adhere this to the card front.

For the sentiment, I die cut a blue vellum using the same die. I am using HB Prayers stamp set. Using the Misti Stamping Tool, I built my sentiment and heat embossed it with Hero Arts Embossing powder. For the areas that I missed embossing, I patched this up with the Uniball White Signo Broad Gel Ink Pen. I used a Sakura White .8 Gel pen on the stitched impressions created by the die to make it look like a real stitching on a mask.

To adhere the vellum, I ran this through the Xyron Sticker Maker, then adhered it to the shaped patterned paper. I adhered this to the front of the shaped card base.

I plan to give this to my nurse friend who works hands-on with COVID patients. I used to work in the MICU but has moved to a different unit for about 3 years now. I still am involved with COVID patients but remotely.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day! Stay safe always!
