Stand-Up Shaped Anniversary Card

Hello! Yesterday was my & my hubby's wedding anniversary. I created this card for the occasion. I was able to pull this one in about 2 hours. Ever since I've been back, my sleeplessness worsened. The good thing is that I now have access to my craft room turning my sleepless nights into something productive. 

I die cut hearts on a heavy weight Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. The heart die I am using is from Honey Bee Paper Hugs die set. I am using the smallest heart die of the two heart dies that is in the set.

I die cut a letter on each heart, the initial of my and my husband's first names. The letter dies that I am using are from The Stamp Market Stitched Alphabet die. I used a red DMC floss for the cross stitching and a kraft DMC to outline the letters.

For the center heart, I stamped the sentiment to commemorate the number of years we are together as husband and wife. I used a red dye ink for stamping. I blended a darker red on the top half of the numbers.

I die cut 6 pieces of hearts using the larger heart die from the die set on red cardstock. I adhered a red heart die to the back of each kraft heart die cut to matte it. 

I trimmed some acetate at 3" x 1/2". I scored this at the middle. I applied double adhesive tape to each folded tab. I adhered this to the back of the red heart die cuts. I adhered the other set of red heart die cuts to the back of the hearts to hide the adhesive on the acetate. The acetate will hold the hearts together and keep the hearts upright.

I die cut another kraft heart. I scored this close to the top. I applied double adhesive tape to this folded tab and adhered it to the back of the center heart. This is where I wrote a personal message for my husband.

Puzzle Heart

Hello! It is not my and my husband's anniversary yet. It just so happens that the theme of the latest challenge of The Blog Called Hero is on Anniversary. 

I am using the following Hero Arts products:

• Puzzle Fancy Die
• Geometric Rotation Stencil (from this month's Monthly Hero Kit)
• Floral Stamp & Cut By Lia
• All Occasion Messages
• Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies
• White Embossing Powder

I die cut the heart on white cardstock then die cut this into puzzle pieces using the puzzle die. I die cut another heart using red cardstock which I adhered to the back of the heart puzzle.

I selectively die cut the puzzle pieces that I will use to highlight the sentiment. I die cut these pieces on the same red cardstock and white cardstock. 

I embossed the sentiment on the red puzzle pieces. I adhered the extra white puzzle pieces to the back for some dimension. I adhered this to the heart puzzle.

I stamped the word forever on the bottom of these spotlighted puzzle pieces using the a red dye ink. 

I temporarily taped the stencil to a gray cardstock and placed this on top of an embossing mat. I ran this through my die cutting machine. Aside from the cutting plate and embossing mat, I added two leather planner covers as part of the embossing sandwich. 

I adhered this gray embossed panel to a top folding note card. I then adhered the heart puzzle die cut. I added red sequins to the panel. I applied Nuvo drops to the center of the sequins. I added shimmer to the red puzzle pieces with Kuretake Wink of Stella. I rounded the corners with We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

Stitched Anniversary Card

Hello! I created this for my husband for our 20th wedding anniversary. I created a fall color themed card to join in Altenew's Inspiration Challenge. I am using the following Altenew products: String Art Rectangles die set, Treble Love die set, Happy die, and Happy Halftone stamp set.

I created a sunburst design by tracing a circle die large enough to fit the heart in the Treble Love die set. I used a ruler to draw straight lines from this circle. The String Art Rectangles die set comes with a straight die which I used to pierce holes on my drawn lines. Since it only pierces 6 holes at a time, I fitted the end most piercing die to the pierced hole on the cardstock and ran it again through the die cut machine to extend the length of the pierced holes. I had to poke the pierced holes before stitching since I am using a blunt ended needle to make the stitching easier for me. But if you are using a pointed needle, this step can be skipped. I used various fall colored embroidery flosses. 

I die cut the word happy and the heart on a cardstock, cutting several pieces to stack it for added dimension. I heat embossed the word anniversary with Wow! Rich Pale Gold embossing powder. I die cut it into a strip using an Avery Elle Simple Sentiments Elle-ments die. I adhered this to the stitched panel. I added shimmer to the heart and the word happy using Zig Kuretake Copper Wink of Luna and Nuvo Midas Touch Aqua Shimmer pen.

I added splatters to the panel by adding dots of the Wink of Luna and Nuvo.

I adhered this to a plum colored 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" cardstock, then adhered it to a top folding note card.

Autumn Colors Inspired Anniversary Card

It's me & my husband's 15th wedding anniversary yesterday. I finished creating this card only today so I was a bit late to hand the card to him. 

I took the leaf stamps from Essentials by Ellen Bold Blooms stamp set and from the Essentials by Ellen Bold Blossoms stand alone die set. I created by own stamps by die cutting fun foam using the dies. This is a technique I learned from Jennifer McGuire (http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2015/10/video-stretching-holiday-supplies-blog-hop-giveaway.html. ) I also gave my fun foam stamps a 'hair-cut' based from Jennifer's tutorial. Although mine didn't come out perfect since the some part of the leaf spine was left uncut on the fun foam.

I chose the colors from my variety of ink pads, ranging from Hero Arts, Close To My Heart and Altenew. I randomly stamped the leaves on watercolor paper with the intent of making the leaves come from a center point of the panel. Aside from the various ink colors and various shades of colors, I also double stamped some images and used second generation stamping on some. This created more color shades as if I have a wider variety of ink pads. 

I applied watercolor to the leaves. Hero Arts does not react to water compared to the other two brands of ink that I used. I watercolored the background with a wash of gray, being careful not to reactivate the inked stamped leaves so no bleeding will occur. 

I die cut a circle on the watercolored panel. I traced this circle with a pencil onto a dark brown cardstock. This is where the sentiment will peek through the watercolored panel. I treated the area with a powder tool. I did some masking on the sentiment stamp in the Bold Blooms stamp set. I stamped the word 'happy' using Versamark ink and embossed it using white powder. Using an MFT stamp set, I stamped '15th' with Versamark and embossed it with Wow! Rich Gold powder. The word 'anniversary' came from a Technique Tuesday stamp set. After stamping this with Versamark ink, I embossed this in white powder. I treated the cardstock with the powder tool in between stamping. 

I sprayed the brown cardstock with mixed water and Ranger Pearl powder. I dried this with the the heat gun. I adhered the watercolored panel to the brown cardstock making sure the sentiment is showing thru the circle window. I in-laid a gold circle die cut to accent the circle. I adhered some Doodlebug sequins for added embellishment. I adhered this panel to a white note card.
