Tie Dye Birthday Card Using Karin Markers

Hello! It was my second son's birthday yesterday who turned 16 years old. I got my inspiration for this card from Karin Marker's Colors Of The Month in IG which includes Neon Yellow, Neon Orange and Neon Orange Red. Can you believe that I used the same colored markers on both cards? I actually die. Unbelievable, right?

My first version of the card was created using Grafix Dura-Bright Black Film Pad. I cut this at 4 1/2" x 6". I am linking a video tutorial that was very helpful to me in drawing my own tie dye pattern (https://youtu.be/IASfGvD7mBo). As seen on the image, despite using this months color palette, it has a totally different effect on this type of paper. I dried my created pattern with a heat tool. I stamped the sentiment on the center of the tie dye pattern using a white pigment ink. I embossed this with clear embossing powder. Just to warn you that despite giving this panel a good zapping of the heat tool, there are areas that remained sticky, thus, attracting the embossing powder. Good thing I used a clear embossing powder. The sentiment stamp is from Avery Elle.

I enjoyed creating the first card that I went ahead and created a version of this card using Tim Holtz Yupo paper. This card shows the true hue of the colors I used. I used black pigment ink this time for the sentiment with clear embossing powder.

I die cut the tie dye panels into 4" x 5 1/4". I adhered the black panel to a brown cardstock before adhering this to a top folding A2 notecard. I adhered the white version on a black A2 note card. I added a white cardstock on the inside of the card to serve as a place to write your sentiment.

Which version of the card do you like the most? Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
