Birthday Trading Card

I love panda bears! I remember the first time I saw a panda bear at Zoo Atlanta. I was lucky because that year, the zoo has a new born panda bear. This brings me to my image choice for our new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs Challenge Blog. Our challenge theme is Black, White and 1 Other Colour. Our sponsor for this challenge is Oddball Stamp. Co.

I printed the panda images on Neenah Solar White cardstock. I fussy cut the images leaving a thin white border around it.

I die cut four pieces of Strathmore watercolor paper using a 3x4 stitched die from the Mama Elephant Peek A Frame Creative Cuts die set. I taped this on a board so I can watercolor on it. I used Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor for the washed color background. I heat set this to dry. I added another layer of color until I was happy with the result.

Using the Misti Stamping Tool, I stamped my sentiments to the watercolored panels. I am using sentiments from the Mama Elephant Make A Wish Stamp set. Using the Misti is very helpful in stamping this big sentiment to a textured paper. It allowed me to re-stamp the image on the exact place. I stamped the yellow watercolored panel with Versafine Onyx Black ink, embossing this with black embossing powder. As for the other colors, I stamped these panels with a coordinating color from Tim Holtz Distress Oxide. I stamped this with Versamark ink as the last layer, and heat embossed this with Hero Arts Embossing powder except for the blue. I used Wow! Primary Blue Topaz embossing powder for this blue panel.

I colored the hearts of the panda bear with the coordinating color of the panel using Pentel gel pens. I added white lines to the eyes using a white Sakura Gelli Roll pen. I also added cheek blushes to the panda bears using Copic markers.

These trading cards are ready to be given away. My son loves giving this kind of cards to his classmates and friends that is why I made a bunch of it. It can also be used as a centerpiece to a card.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope to see your creations at the Incy Wincy Designs Challenge Blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
