Ribbon Slider Card using a Gift Card Die

Hello! I created this interactive card using a die from Honey Bee which is intended for gift cards. I thought of why not extending the purpose of the die to creating something else. That's why I came up with this. Thanks to Jennifer McGuire's tutorial on Ribbon Slider Cards. I was able to use her technique with the die, thus, coming up with this interactive card.

I am using a Crate Paper Hello Love collection for this card. I die cut the base (which is the box, if it was a present), and adhered the two sides to create the pocket of the slider card. I die cut the cover of the present using another patterned paper. For the slider feature, I used the die that cuts out the solid part of the gift card holder. I followed Jennifer McGuire's tutorial on where to punch the hole up to threading the ribbon through the hole. I skipped the step of the bow. Instead, I snipped off the edge of the bow and adhered it to the inside of the present box cover, together with the sliding panel.

To embellish the front of the slider card, I die cut a heart using the largest heart die from Lawn Fawn Stitched Heart Stackables die set. I die cut a pink ombre patterned paper from the same collection.

I stamped the sentiment on the heart using Versafine Onyx Black ink. The stamps for the sentiment are from Honey Bee Bless Your Heart stamp set. I used a silver gel pen to trace the word 'Bless' for a simple embellishment.

For the slider sentiment, I mixed several stamps to create a customized message. The stamps I used are from Honey Bee Bless Your Heart stamp set, Clearly Besotted Little Elves stamp set (you don't have to limit Christmas-themed stamps to Christmas only), and Simon Says Stamp Fluttering By stamp set.

To let the recipient know that this is an interactive card, I stamped 'pull' to the box cover using Martha Stewart Custom Stamp Setting Kit and a light gray ink. I cut off the excess of the box cover to make it the same width as the box.

I am going to send this to my son in the Army who is scheduled to be deployed to South Korea on February 10.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!

Diddybag Celebrate You Shaker Card

I am late in posting a project for Incy Wincy Design's bi-weekly challenge. I just came back from vacation, and I am usually unable to predict what craft items to bring with me. I always feel overwhelmed on what to bring. So, I just limit myself to coloring during trips. The good thing is that my images are now colored and cut. I also have a design lay out in mind.

I am using an old Crate Paper patterned paper line, Hello Love. I die cut a window using Pretty Pink Posh Window Frames die. I changed the orientation of the die to give it a twist.

For the sentiment, I am using a sentiment from My Favorite Things Celebrate Life stamp set. I am using words from two stamps. I used masking technique to be able to stamp the sentiments to make it look like the impression is from one stamp. I heat embossed this with Simon Says Stamp Rose Gold embossing powder. To make the sentiment pop, I colored the sentiment with Copic Opaque White. I colored the rest of the sentiment with a light pink marker.

To assemble the shaker card, I adhered a clear acetate on the back of the window panel. I cut a fun foam slightly smaller than the window panel. I die cut the window on the fun foam. I adhered this to the back of the window panel. I poured sequins over the acetate. The sequins are from SSS and Martha Stewart Crafts. I closed the window with another patterned paper from Hello Love. I adhered this to a white base card.

I adhered the bear to the front using foam adhesive. The image was colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.  I colored the hearts on the patterned paper with clear Spectrum Noir Shimmer pen, and I adhered the same hearts I used for shakers to some of the hearts. I rounded the corners on the left side with We R Memory Keepers Cropadile Corner Puncher.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope you join us in our Celebrate challenge. Have a blessed and brilliant day!
