4th of July Inspired Birthday Card

Hello! Welcome back to my blog. I created a card inspired by the birthday of America which is celebrated every 4th of July. The Kat Scrappiness products I used are linked below.

I die cut the banner on red and blue cardstocks. I die cut 2 pieces of the banner on blue cardstock. The die I used is from the KS Nesting Fishtail Banner dies.

Here comes the tedious part. I die cut a lot of stars on white cardstock. The star die is from the same banner die I used for the banners. I used the second to the smallest star die in the set.

I die cut the strips on white cardstock using the KS Stitched Slimline Strips dies. I used the second to the thinnest strip die.

I adhered the white strips to the red banner vertically to create stripes. I adhered the white star die cuts to the blue banners.

For the sentiment, I die cut the sentiment on red, white and blue cardstocks. I was not sure which of these colors will work well with the design. I adhered these sentiment die cuts on top of each other with the red die cut on top. The die I used is from the KS Happy Birthday Shadow Sentiment Craft die.

I trimmed a patterned paper at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". I adhered the blue starred banners on the patterned paper panel.

I added a pop-up feature to the red striped banner. I trimmed two pieces of a black cardstock at 1" x 2". I scored this black cardstock at every 4th of an inch on the short side. I folded this strip on the score line and reinforced the folds with a bone folder. I repeated this on the other black strip cardstock. I added glue to one end of the accordion strip and adhered this to the back of the striped banner repeating it with the other accordion strip. I added glue to the other end of the accordions and adhered this to the patterned paper panel.

I added dots of glue to the sentiment die cut and adhered this to the striped banner. I added shimmer to the sentiment die cut.

I zhuzhed the tails of the blue banner for some interest.

I hope you like today's card. With a heavy heart, this is my last post as a Kat Scrappiness Influencer. It has been a great ~2 years. I will always be grateful for this opportunity.

Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
