Rainbow Colored Mushrooms

Hello! Welcome back to my blog. Today's project got its inspiration from a rainbow washi tape. I just love the colors of the mushrooms on the washi tape that I thought of recreating it. The washi tape has a lighter shade and a darker shade of each color. Since I have limited space, I just use a color of the rainbow.

The stencils I used are from Blank Page Muse:
The mushroom stencil is my most used BPM product. I have created several projects using it. I don't think I will ever get tired of using it since I keep coming up with ideas on how to use it.

I started with choosing the colors I will be using. On a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white cardstock, I positioned the stencil. I covered the mushrooms on the stencil with Post-it Tape leaving the mushroom that I am going to color uncovered. This just makes sure there is no stray color that will be blended on to the panel.

Since the stem of the mushroom has a different color, I masked this part as well.

I continued this process until I completed the row of rainbow mushrooms. I made sure that I don't use two similar mushrooms next to each other.

I added dots of white Ranger Enamel Accents to embellish the mushrooms. I used different sizes of stylus to add the enamel accents.

Just getting to this step alone gives me a lot of project possibilities. I can cut this into a strip to embellish a project. Add a double adhesive tape to the back, then it becomes a faux washi tape. I can also just stamp a sentiment and keep it CAS like this. I decided to create a scene for these rainbow mushrooms.

I masked the mushrooms and blended green inks to create the ground for the mushrooms. I blended blue inks to the top portion of the panel for the sky. I did not blend ink in between the mushrooms because I might accidentally blend blue ink on the mushrooms. I think leaving that space without ink gave the mushroom some glow.

After I blended ink to the sky portion, I positioned the cloud stencil and blended the same blue ink to it.

For the sentiment, I die cut a light gray cardstock and a patterned paper using dies from Lawn Fawn and Little B. I stacked the sentiment die cuts for a raised look. I blended ink to the bottom portion of the die cuts. I adhered this to the grass portion of the scene.

I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5 1/4". I adhered this to a top folding horizontal gray note card.

I hope you like today's project. Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day.
