Shaker Birthday Card

Hello! It is my youngest son's 9th birthday yesterday. Also, yesterday is his first day of being in school after months of virtual learning. To make this day more memorable, we have snow accumulation overnight and his school did not declare a snow day.

I colored the image with my son's TY stuffed animal, Yips, as inspiration. This is the latest addition to his TY stuffed animals which he got for Christmas. The stamped image is from My Favorite Things Unicorns And Glitter stamp set. The image was stamped on Strathmore Bristol paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens for coloring. I die cut this using the coordinating die.

I trimmed an MFT Grapesicle cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4". I treated this panel with an anti-static powder tool. I stamped the rainbow image from the same stamp set using Versamark ink. I poured Wow! Glow In The Dark Embossing powder to the stamped rainbows then heat set it. You should see how cool this looks in the video at the end of this post.

I die cut an apple green colored cardstock using the Happy Birthday Circle Frame Die-namics. I die cut three of this and adhered this on top of each other.

I die cut a circle frame on a dark gray cardstock using the MFT Circle Stax die. I am using a circle die that has the same size as the circle opening of the sentiment circle frame, and the next size up to create this frame. I adhered this on top of the stacked sentiment circle die to outline the circle for a bit of a contrast.

Using the smaller circle die, I die cut a window on the center of the Grapesicle cardstock. To create the shaker portion, I die cut another circle on an acetate using a circle die larger than the circle window I created on the Grapesicle cardstock. I lined the edge of the circle window with foam adhesive and adhered more foam adhesive to the back of this panel. I poured different colored sequins, following the colors in the challenge, to this well. I covered this well with a yellow cardstock to seal the shaker.

I adhered this panel to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" yellow cardstock. I adhered the stamped image with foam adhesive to the center of the shaker window. I accented the eyes of the image with Sakura Black Glaze pen.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
