Heart Bookmark Give Away

Hello! Happy Valentine's to you! I was inspired to create this after I saw this at IG @heyletsmakestuff. She also was very kind to link up free the file she used to create this. I revised the sentiment since I was planning to give it to my co-workers, just to make it more appropriate.

After Cori sent me the free file, I uploaded the file to Cricut Design Space. I searched for a more appropriate sentiment and attached the sentiment to the heart bookmark cut. I was planning to have the sentiment foiled on the bookmark to make it a one layer bookmark. I somehow figured that foiling on multiple images to be cut on a single mat offers some difficulty. The Cricut will draw first before cutting. I could have reversed the process but I went ahead and tried it. I cut smaller pieces of foil, large enough to accommodate the sentiment. I taped them on the card stock where it will be drawn. I missed some spots since the We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill drew on areas where the washi tape is. I have no real good trick on how to fix this. I tried fixing it using the WRMK Foil Pen but I was not able to align it well.

After the sentiments were drawn on the card stock, I pressed the pause button on the machine and removed all the foil. Having a spatula is very convenient to use on this step since you can just insert the spatula under the foil to lift the tape off the card stock without tearing the card stock.

My bookmark would have been done at this point but I forgot to change my cut setting to card stock+. If I caught this error before unloading the mat, I could have re-feed the mat to have the Cricut cut the bookmarks at the same spot. But I did not.

To save the project, I went ahead and created this into a two layer bookmark. I die cut the foiled sentiments using a circle die. I cut the bookmarks using a cream colored card stock. I scored and folded the hearts. I stamped hearts using a Lawn Fawn stamp on one of the face of the hearts using a silver pigment ink to create a subtle background for the circle sentiment. I adhered the circle sentiment to this.

Thank you, Cori for the very timely project and cut file. Here is a link to her blog post featuring this bookmark, valentines-day-heart-bookmark.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
