Metallic Birthday Card

Hello! We have a new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs Challenge Blog. The theme for this challenge is Use Something Metallic. Our sponsor for this challenge is Starstampz.

I printed the image on Neenah Solar White cardstock. I colored the image with Tim Holtz Distress crayons. I pick up the pigment from the tip of the crayon using a water brush. I try not to make the cardstock too wet since I am not using a watercolor paper. I colored the fireflies with a gold inked pen and also added dots using this pen. I later on covered the fireflies with Bright Gold Nuvo Crystal Drops. I blended Tim Holtz Distress Black Soot, Faded Jeans and Seedless Preserve inks for the background using the Picket Fence Life Changing Brushes. This brand of blending brush came with a small sized brush that I used on the tight areas close to the main image.

I created a frame using Lawn Fawn Stitched Square Stackable die. I pounced a Versamark pad on this frame, poured Simon Says Stamp Rose Gold embossing powder on it, then heat set it. I repeated this process to make the frame more metallic looking. I adhered this frame over the colored image, trimming off any excess.

Using the SSS Stitched Rectangles die, I die cut a We R Memory Keepers Sheer Metallic Copper Heart vellum. I adhered the image to this. My sentiment banner was created using the LF Fancy Folded Banners die on black cardstock. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Digits stamp set. I heat embossed this on the banner die cut using Hero Arts White embossing powder. I used the negative die cut piece to curve the sentiment stamp so it will follow the shape of the banner. After I've heat embossed the sentiment, I pounced the Versamark ink pad on the banner die cut. I brushed Perfect Pearls Perfect Pearl powder to this area. I buffed off the excess powder. I adhered this to the heart patterned vellum using foam dots.

For the back panel, I heat embossed the SSS Center Cut Heart cling stamp. I also used the same SSS Rose Gold embossing powder on this. I cut this at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I adhered the vellum panel to this using foam adhesive with the foam adhesive adhered to the back of the framed digital image and banner die cut to hide it.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope you join us in the latest Incy Wincy Designs Challenge. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day.
