Clean And Simple Card

Hello! I am late in posting for our latest Incy Wincy Designs Challenge. The current challenge is For The Men And The Boys. I am overflowing with men and boys in my life, my husband and my 4 sons. This should be an easy one to make, right?

I am using an image from one of our sponsors, Fabrika Fantasy. I printed the image on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored the image with Copic markers. I would like to give a shout out to Sandy Allnock for her tutorial on coloring dogs and cats. It helped me a lot in coloring this dog image.

I created this card with my 12-year old son in mind. He is going to compete next week in our state's, Missouri, National Geography Bee. This is his second year to compete. I am very excited for him. To customize this card for him, I created a globe balloon. I die cut a circle on a blue vellum. I prepared this circle for embossing with an anti-static powder tool. I stamped the map image from Concord and 9th Map Love stamp set. I stamped this with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. On the back of the circle vellum, I stamped a part of the map using Delicata Golden Glitz pigment ink. I heat set this to dry being careful not to overheat the vellum so as not to flatten the embossed map image on the front of the circle.

I stamped the sentiment on the front, on top of the embossed map. The sentiment is from an old Hero Arts stamp set name Lil Hoot. I embossed the sentiment using Paper Source navy blue embossing powder.

I adhered this to cover the printed balloon. I cut a small triangle vellum for the end of the balloon. I created a small bow using a silver thread and adhered it to the balloon.

I rarely create clean and simple cards but I don't want to add anymore embellishments to this panel. I want to keep the focus on the image and the balloon. I adhered some October Afternoon washi tape to the front of a top folding note card, on the top and bottom only to create a trim. I trimmed a bit off the the top and bottom edges of the colored panel, then adhered this to the front of the note card.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
