Sketch Inspired Greeting Card for World Card Making Day

Hello! Welcome back to my blog. Last Saturday was World Card Making Day. I cannot believe the amount of online card making activities that day. I always look forward to the this day and the card making challenges.

The sketch I used for this card is based from Doodlebug's FB World Card Making Day Sketch Challenge which I linked below. I am very glad that they have a challenge this year.

I am using Doodlebug products: Hello 6x6 paper pad, Kraft in Color-Kraft 6x6 paper pad, Washi Tape Chevron Assortment, vellum, and Just Because Doodle Pops.

Using a striped paper from the Hello paper pad, I cut the stripes apart with a paper cutter leaving a portion on the end uncut. This will somehow keep the strips of paper together as I weave the paper. I cut strips of paper from the Kraft in Color-Kraft paper pad. I weaved these strips to the striped patterned paper. I secured the strips with liquid adhesive.

I die cut a dotted patterned paper from the Hello paper pad with a scalloped edge die. I adhered this to the weaved panel. I adhered a strip of gold mirror cardstock where these two meet. I added washi tape on the scalloped side of the sketch. I die cut this with nesting triangle die so I can matte it with a blue dotted patterned paper cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". The dotted patterned paper is also from the Hello paper pad.

I die cut a tag from the same blue patterned paper. I matted this with a vellum cut slightly larger than the patterned paper tag. I die cut the circle reinforcer and adhered it to the tag. I heat embossed a sentiment on the patterned paper tag. I added a white embroidery floss which I threaded through the tag hole. I adhered the Doodle Pops on the tag. I adhered the tag to the panel with foam adhesive.

I adhered the panel to a top folding A2 note card.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Did you celebrate World Card Making Day, too?

Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
