Sketch Inspired Greeting Card

Hello! I created this card to join My Favorite Things' latest sketch challenge. Although using MFT products is not  a requirement, I am using the following MFT products:

  • Celebrate Life stamp set
  • Fresh Cut Flowers die set.
  • Wonky Stitched Circle die set
  • Happy Hello Die-namics
I started off with selecting the patterned papers I will be using for the card. I am using Doodlebug Hello 6x6 patterned paper.

I die cut the tulips, leaves and stems using different colored cardstocks. Before layering the flowers, I blended Tim Holtz Distress inks on the flowers to give it some depth. I adhered the petals, leaves and stem using liquid adhesive.

I die cut two different patterned papers from the paper pad using a stitched rectangle die.

I heat embossed the sentiment on the darker patterned paper. I colored this with white Faber Castell Polychromos pencil.

I die cut the sentiment on pink cardstock and a dotted patterned paper from the paper pad. I adhered the dotted sentiment die cut to the back of the pink sentiment die cut, slightly off setting it for a shadow effect.

I die cut the circle using a blue patterned paper from the paper pad.

I created a floral wrap using white parchment paper. I arranged the flowers before closing up the wrap.

I machine stitched a wide white strip of crepe paper to create pleats.

Assembling the card, I adhered the pleated crepe paper to the stitched patterned paper panel. I adhered the stitched circle. I adhered the floral arrangement. I squirted some Ranger Multi Matte Medium to the back of the flowers for a bit of dimension. I adhered the hello sentiment die cut. I added shimmer to this die cut using a Tonic Shimmer pen then adding Ranger Glossy Accents. I set this aside to dry.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
