Embossed Acetate Easter Shaker Card

I created this card to join in Hero Arts latest challenge on embossing. I am using the HA Irregular Checkerboard stencil. I positioned the stencil on top of a Canson Cold Pressed watercolor paper cut at 4 1/4"x 5 1/2". I secured this with washi tape to prevent shifting while I add ink. I am using various Tim Holtz Distress Oxide, coloring each square with a color. I set this aside to dry.

Using the Misti Stamping Tool, I stamped the letters from the Hero Arts Journal Letters stamp set on the stenciled watercolor panel, stamping a letter in each inked square. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink so I can add black embossing powder, then heat set it. I used a water brush to apply water to the inside of the letters, then lifting the ink away with a paper towel. I brushed in some Spectrum Noir Clear shimmer pen to the letters.

I applied Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Antique Linen using Clarity Stencil Brush to apply ink to the sides of the letters. I flicked water droplets to the panel and lift it away with a paper towel.

I rubbed an anti-static powder tool to a piece of Judikins Embossable Window Acetate. Using the same letter stamps, I created a sentiment and stamped it with HA Unicorn pigment ink. I poured HA white embossing powder and carefully heat set it.

To make this into a shaker card, I die cut a window on an old We R Memory Keepers patterned paper with Lawn Fawn Stitched Square die. I die cut a square frame using the same square frame and the next size down onto the reverse size of the patterned paper. I secured the frame to the window with pieces of tape before adding a double adhesive tape to adhere the acetate to.

I created a well on the watercolored panel using foam adhesive. I poured different colored flower sequins to the well. I adhered the front window panel to the well to secure the shaker card. This panel was then adhered to a top folding note card.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant & creative day!

  3. This is a cute card! I like how your embossed acetate element floats over the greeting on the inside of your window. Very nicely crafted! Thanks for sharing with us at 613 Avenue Create.
