Hello! Welcome back to my blog. I created this card to join this monht's Altenew inspiration Challenge.
I added a lot of stitching to this card. I used the Altenew String Art Rectangles Die Set to add the stitching holes. I used the largest die, the third to the largest die and the fifth to the largest die to add the holes to a white cardstock panel cut at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". I cut these into frames using a craft knife. I stitched on these frames using a chain link stitch. I used DMC embroidery floss following the colors in the challenge photo.
I trimmed the frames to make it skinny being careful not to cut any of the stitching.
I cut a heavy weight vellum at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". I prepped this for heat embossing. I stamped the floral bundles from the Altenew Watercolor Flowers Stamp Set from the Craft Your Life Project Kit using Veramark ink. I poured Wow! White Pearl embossing powder to the sticky ink. I heat set the powder until it has melted.
I used some more of the dies from the Altenew String Rectangles Die Set (the 2nd, 4th & 6th from the largest dies) to add holes to the embossed vellum. I did a running stitch to these poked holes using a lighter shade of the same colors I used on the frames. I used less amount of floss on the running stitch than the chain link stitch.
I adhered the frames to the vellum.
For the sentiment, I die cut the word hugs from the Altenew Timeless Sentiments Die Set on a mirrored black cardstock and two pieces of it on black cardstock. I adhered the black die cuts on top of each other and topped it with the mirror sentiment die cut for some dimension. I adhered this on the center of the embossed vellum panel.
I adhered color coordinating sequins to the chain link stitching.
I adhered this to a top folding A2 note card.
I hope you like today's card. Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
