Sketch Inspired Birthday Card

Hello! Welcome back to my blog. This is my first post as a card design team member of Stick It Down Scrapbook and Card Making Challenge in FB. There are three sketches to choose from so lots of oppotunities to join.

I love it that I was able to use my edge punchers for this card sketch. Despite the emergence of cutting dies, I am still holding on to my punchers especially the Martha Stewart ones which is the edge punch I used on this card. I punched several green cardstocks from my stash.

I also punched an orange cardstock to which I adhered four of the doily edgers. The contrast of the orange shows through the holes of the doilies.

The card panel is split into yellow and orange cardstocks. The top half is orange which I added details with a quilted stitched pattern die and green ink splatters.

For the bottom half, the yellow panel, I adhered the layered doily to this. I also adhered the sentiment to this panel, above the doily layers. I created the sentiment by die cutting the word birthday from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday wafer dies, and the word Happy from an Altenew Essential Sentiment Strips 3D dies. I die cut three pieces of each and stacked them for dimension.

I zhuzhed the doilies to add more depth to the card panel.

I hope you like today's card. Please join this month's sketch challenge, if you can. We would love to see your take on this month's sketches.

Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
