Happy Father's Day Copic Colored Glitter Card

Happy Father's Day to my husband, Clem! Here's the card I made for this occasion.

I cut the card sentiment using Cricut Artiste Philosophy at 4" on a white cardstock. I applied Versamark ink to the the sentiment, poured Ranger sticky embossing powder to it, then heat set it. I applied Elizabeth Crafts silk microfine glitter to this, rubbed it with my finger to set it. I colored this with Copics..

For the background, I used a Tim Holtz stencil and a black cardstock. I wanted to create gold embossing paste for the stars. I first tried mixing Prima Color Blooms to the paste but the outcome is not a vibrant gold. I then tried mixing a gold watercolor to the paste but it still wasn't vibrant. With these two trials, I also made the paste watery. I guess I could have tried Perfect Pearls but didn't thought about it that time. My final resort to creating gold textured stars is using Tim Holtz Distress Glitters. I poured it to the paste while it was still wet. I set this aside. Although, not all of the glitters settled on the paste (Glitters kept falling off!), I was happy with the texture.

I liked the idea of adding a second sentiment to the front of the card after my 3rd son described the layout as awesome. I used thesaPaper Smooches Sentiment Sampler set to add another sentiment. I wanted a single lined sentiment on the bottom. This stamp seemed difficult to cut so I did some masking to make it a one liner sentiment. This was stamped using Versamark ink. I applied WOW! Gold Pearl embossing powder, then heat set it. I cut it into a strip, applied foam adhesive. This was adhered to the bottom of the card.

I trimmed the black background paper to 4 x 5 1/4. I adhered this to a gold cardstock for additional pop of color.

Thanks for viewing my blog.
