Combined Digital & Stamped Images Celebration Card

My sister's birthday is coming up. I would have preferred to create a purple colored card for her, since that is her favorite color, but I find the purple card stock and patterned paper that I have on hand are too dark for a birthday card.

I colored the bear with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. The digital image came with balloons in the background. I stamped more balloons but I didn't like how straight one of the strings is. If I would have done this again, I would have just stamped the balloon and drew the strings using a black marker. I fuzzy cut the image to get rid of the balloons.

I am using a Forever Friends patterned paper purchased by my sister in the Philippines. I had to strategically plan how to cut the patterned paper since it has the bears and sentiments as part of the paper design. I didn't want these elements in my card.

I cut another patterned paper using Pretty Pink Posh Scallop Circle die. I cut a circle out of vellum to fit the scallop die cut. I embossed this using a star embossing folder. The star impression is not clear on vellum but I just kept this for this project.

I created a sentiment strip which I partially fuzzy cut the top half of the strip. Using the Misti Stamping Tool, I stamped the Altenew Super Script stamp sentiment on a yellow patterned paper. I used Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre ink to create some gradient. Since this is a large sentiment stamp, the Misti is very useful in fixing missed stamped spots. With the Misti too, I was able to ink the sentiment with Versamark ink so I can emboss it. To create the partial fuzzy cut strip, I lightly drew a line across the sentiment, at the point where I want to fuzzy cut it.

I stamped balloons from My Favorite Things BB Beary Special stamp set and black Ranger Archival ink. I colored this with Zig and created the shading using clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. I die cut this using the coordinating die.

Putting the card together, I adhered the patterned paper to a white note card, then the scalloped circle, then the bear, and the strip. I tucked the balloons under the gifts and add dimension to the balloons using foam adhesive. I applied Ranger Glossy Accents to the balloons, party hat star, and the cupcake candy canes. On the latter two, I spread the Glossy Accents using a stick pin. I set this aside to dry. As final step, I cornered the edges with a We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ATE NING! May you have more brilliant and blessed years to come.
